Saturn Missiles is one of Baboon guitarist James Henderson's nascent solo-projects, begun essentially as a vehicle for his more optimistic, radio-friendly songs. Henderson (aka Jett Royal) writes and produces 3:30 mini-epics of indiepop exuberance with lyrics that are at once oblique and universal. A mishmash of periods and styles distill into a unique and charming core which can most easily be descibed as "ear-catching."
The latter half of 2007 brought numerous placements of Saturn Miisiles music in films and television. The song "New Day's Dawning" was featured during the opening credits for the Amanda Bynes film "Sydney White." It and other Saturn Missiles songs have been used in television shows such as Kyle XY on ABC Family, Moonlight on CBS, and The Reaper on The CW.
Away from Baboon's fist-pumping bombast, the quirky introspection of Sunday Actors (currently recording with his wife, Kim) and his constant work as a film /TV composer; Saturn Missiles is the product of the most accessible section of a busy musician's imagination.
