SCARELETT - Hurt'n Bleed
We’re the band you’ve never heard of. The one you’ve never seen live on stage. Whose videos are never shown on MTV or VH1. Billboard doesn’t list our singles anymore. Our albums have been sold out for a long time. No studio is booking us anymore. We are hated by music editors in the whole world. Whenever we play, we play too loud. Our songs are either too hard or too soft, either too modern or too old-fashioned. Actually, you don’t want to know us. We’re too old. We’re too young. Your girlfriend or best buddy doesn’t like us.
We take medicines. We take drugs. We’re constantly high on something and can’t concentrate on fuck-all. We much rather hang out on the couch all drugged up and listen to Iggy Pop. Everything you’ve ever dreamed of, we’ve experienced already in real life - and already forgot all about it again.
We talk too much. We don’t talk enough. We don’t like crowds. That’s why we never play live. No manager wants to manage us. Our roadies have all quit by now. Record labels all run and hide when you only mention our name. We’re not allowed to stay at the Waldorf Astoria anymore. Johnny Rotten was fond of our first single. Willy DeVille liked our first album. Our girlfriends are porn stars. Our best friends are criminals. We’re drowning in our money. We’re as poor as the guy sleeping under the bridge. We’re all that what you are not. And that’s just fine. We played at the CBGB’s. We played at the Whiskey A Go Go. It was miserable. We can’t tune our instruments properly and our amps are always turned up to the max. Nevertheless, you buy our new album. Because you know exactly that everything you hold sacred we’re going to destroy within just a few seconds. The speakers of your stereo will burn. Your eardrum will burst. Your mother will cry for help at the top of her lungs. Your father will abdicate you. But you will have wanted it that way. And that’s just fine. Then you have to remember: We’re the band you’ve never heard of.
Ich wünsche Dir ein frohes Fest, einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr. Feiere schön und genieße diese Zeit. Diese Zeit der Ruhe, der Liebe und Besinnlichkeit. Dein Olli
