About me: "Scares That Care" is a not-for-profit benefit held once a year, to provide money, toys and other items to help sick children. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000.00 for the Johns Hopkins Children's Cancer Center. We are currently at $8,449.39!

Led by horror film director and retired police officer Joe Ripple, (who can also be found running the security for the Horrorfind Weekend), this benefit will utilize the fan base of the horror, haunt and Halloween genres to raise funds and awareness for sick children in need. We plan to have a GREAT time holding these benefits, by showing films, having silent auctions and maybe getting lucky enough to have a few celebrity appearances. Our success depends upon YOU.
Our first benefit was a huge success for Ms. Joy Dohler, the mentally challenged sister of the late Don Dohler. We were able to raise over $3,000.00 for her care!
Horror Fans care just as much about children as anyone else. We WANT to HELP!
If you know of anyone that would be willing to help by donating time, horror or movie related items or other support -- please have them get in touch!
**We HAVE BEEN APPROVED by Johns Hopkins Children's Cancer Center! We have a letter of support, and a contact name and phone number, to verify that we are legitimately collecting money on their behalf!**
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who cares about the health and well-being of children!
We'd also like to meet families and kids who are going through this battle. While we are based in Maryland, our goal is that with each benefit -- to donate to different children's centers.
You are -- and always will be -- an inspiration for us all.
That's the last of the flyers for this show, Joe. We'll stop flooding your comments for now and we're looking forward to hanging out with you at the show.
I now have another great reason to support Scares the Care. One of my friends and his wife just had a baby a few weeks ago. He was just diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. STC was the first thing I thought of!
