BIOGRAPHY:
SCISSORS FOR LEFTY is a personality that skips alongside Pop Music, Indie Rock, & Dirty Glam. We have strict standards that land somewhere in between "Pro" & "Garage". Yeah, we know that such a signature is not a sure-fire formula for success, and truly... that's OK.
So, what are we about, hmm?? Mostly, we're endearing friends with a penchant for melody & mischief. We're cuckoo to watch, people tend to dance a lot, and we never skimp on passion. If we were a TV show, we'd be Sesame Street. No!!!....The Muppets!!! Yes, The Muppets, but with a "PG-13" rating for language, and that luscious "R" rating, for imagery.
As the singer, people compare/crtique my voice to
Joe Strummer, Jim Morrison, Jarvis Cocker, Julian Casablancas, even James Brown. Well, what can I say?? I sing in the key of "J"....I tried "K" and it lacked soul...so "J" it is!!!
Who have we been blown away by?? How about the stage presence of folks like Kiss, Karen O, Stuart Murdoch, Michael Jackson, Steve Malkmus, Bjork, and of course, Ian Svenonius. Their contributions to exotic performance are fully embraced by us, and no doubt, have influenced our live flame. Then again, they might have had access to time machines??? You never know!!! Into the future they went, and Scissor For Lefty inspiration spilled into their heels :)
