GeneralWriting; reading. I'd like to dispel the cliché that librarians are boring, but that simply just doesn't seem true with me...watching paint dry seems like a pretty swell day to me, although watching a movie might also be fun.

   Scott's Blurbs
About me:
I'm a librarian, freelance writer (meaning I get paid enough writing to pay taxes on my income, but not nearly enough to make a honest living), and all around disturbed person. I don't enjoy meeting new people, and quite frankly don't like people in general (though I have found some to be quite nice); I like dogs. I have a homepage that is sometimes updated (www.scottdouglas.org), and an email address that I sometimes check (Roboscott7@msn.com). I also have an email address that I often check. I like books, plays and foreign films, and I'm not gay, which is becoming a difficult feat. I also like the color green and the numbers 7, 13, and 21, but I'm not sure why. I'm a conservative Christian, but, by and large, I don't really like other conservative Christians, which doesn't really make sense. Sometimes I wonder if the world really is flat; other times I wonder if the personification of time in Shakespeare’s sonnets meant something deeper or if he was just trying to get laid (I never really liked Shakespeare, btw, but I like Jane Austen); still other times I wonder if Flannery O'Connor and Mark Twain (had he been alive when Flannery was) had a baby, what would it have been like.

I'm using a cool app called Goodreads to keep track of what I read - check it out so we can share books!

Saw you were a GoodReads Author and wondered why we weren't "friends" yet.
I would love to share what a fellow librarian has been reading! Please accept me as a GoodReads Friend! :0) -Katie

Hey Scott...
Thanks for the add! I feel like I have been accepted by a Librarian Celebrity! I'm just so honored that you would add a small-town, perky, assistant Children's Librarian/Clerk such as myself to your list.
:0) Thanks a bunch! -Katie

Hello, I have about 20 pages to go in your brilliant masterpiece of a memoir...I volunteer at the library so I can relate to some of the issues in your novel. Especially some of the characters, such as Brenda and Edith. I'm just glad to know I'm not alone in my...well, suffering! Thank you!

I finished your book, truly it was the story of the library I work at. I wanted to know if there are any good library blog sights? I would love to talk to other librarians to see how there days go.

The book is great, I am glad that I being a librarian can get a laugh reading it, because it is so true!

Great video clip, but I really wish it captured more of the drunken dancing girls with no rhythm that were peppered throughout the crowd.
