Who is Brooksfoundjake?
Brooksfoundjake is a duo I was in with guitarist Bryan Dale, before I recorded Latitudes & Local Time. I still play some of the songs live, so I made a collection of those tracks available through Snocap.
I love creating music. For the most part, my songs are self written/performed/produced. I collaborate with John Mondick a good bit live and sporadically in the studio, and lately have had Sarah Lantz playing some cello. and I'm lucky to have friends with great ears. Someday I'd love to be able to get a larger scale collaboration going with my music, but I've always worked best largely by my lonesome. I teach music in the evenings, but right now I spend the majority of my time in the studio, playing, listening, thinking, nodding my head, shaking my head and using four letter words for both good and bad reasons. I really can't wait to be done this time around, but on good days there's nothing I'd rather be doing.
I've had songs on some pretty cool radio stations in the Tri-State area (such as 88.5 WXPN in Philadelphia, 105.9 The X in Pittsburgh) and have done a bunch of music festivals as well as a couple tours. I'm taking a little time off of playing shows to try and finish a record soon.
Thanks again for stopping by and bringing me some choppy-sticks :) As of June 11th, I too will be able to sleep in late(r?) and sneak up on some of those basking turtles. If that's not summer bliss I do not know what is :)
Going to a "Beef and Beer" fund raiser for the local dog park tonight at 8. Its $20 for food and beers supplied by the new Philadelphia Beer Co. Email me if you wanna go and include your current phone #. -k
And I would like to say that I don't know who I'd rather have in my living room. Oh, Scott, I suppose. He takes up less room, and is a better conversationalist.
You're so right! Between the tattoo, the collarbone break, and the Halloween gore, my right side isn't feeling so right. Awww. I'm going to go make it a card.
it was good to meet you the other day! I was just listening to your record - sounds great man - great songs - you are a very talented songwriter! really dig your stuff! keep up the good work! big ups from regensburg Jake
We played little league together. That was a long time ago. 5 Minutes a Year. Good stuff dude. I have been playing guitar with Dan the Man Hartigan lately. I only know a few chords, but we have fun. Keep up the great music. Let me know if you are coming up New Hampshire way anytime.
it'd be an honor to be in your top friends, Scott! only reason i avoid it by putting family members only is because i've had people mad at me if they aren't in the list.. which is flattering maybe, but also too much hassle. :-p glockenschpizzl. my new favorite word.
I just got your message and gah! I have plans for Saturday night which I will happily try to rearrange so that I can come out and see you play...the ladies have always loved you, don't lie!
It's funny how when you start playing club ultimate at school, cleats become the norm. But I did wear flips in the snow last night. And it was freezing.
Scott. What is going on? It seems like forever since we caught up, but I've been pretty busy up here in Syracuse. I see you have a tour date in Deutschland? Sick.
