  • Bio

Scott Moffatt started his musical career about 22 years ago, but he has spent the last 3 years developing his production and mixing skills based out of Bangkok, Thailand. During those years he has produced five albums: Slot Machine's "Mutation" and "Grey" (both albums have had number 1 singles and numerous top 10's), Brand New Sunset's self-titled and highly anticipated third album (capturing a number 1 and two other top 5's plus a producer of the year award), Getsunova's "Electric Ballroom" (which has yet to be released but is expected to take Thai music to YET another level) and finally Daylight "Break of Dawn" set to be released towards the end of this year. Scott Moffatt tries to find a healthy balance between artistic expression and commercial sensibility and has managed to receive critical acclaim on a majority of his works. He's also been fortunate enough to work with some of the most talented people in Thailand. Collaborating with the likes of "Indie Icons" Futon (now known as GOO) and Apartment khunpa he's managed to find both the major label and indie side rewarding. After a long stay in Bangkok, Scott Moffatt crossed the globe to start on Roads' first release (yet to be titled). It was the first time he had worked legitimately in the country since his days with the very successful rock/pop band "The Moffatts" or even his more recent indie hoodlums "The Boston Post". Roads will be released through the Montreal based indie label "Indica Records" after he finishes mixing at his friends studio "Tony Phee Studios" in Bangkok, Thailand. During the coarse of recording Roads, Scott went to Nashville TN to visit his brothers and produce a song for up and coming solo artist Cory Lamb. This was a great experience for the rising producer as he got to work with and learn from genius engineer Csaba Petocz (Ben Folds, Kenny Chesney, Metallica, Korn, and Elvis Costello). With that project wrapping up soon it should be an interesting rest of 2009 and hopefully an even better 2010 for Scott Moffatt. With first hand experience working with the likes of Bob Rock, John Shanks, Glen Ballard and Paul Fox, Scott has a good head start and understands "song" and "arrangement" like the best of them. He is currently in Bangkok, Thailand developing and working on several projects. If you wish to contact him, you can do so through this site. Over the past year or two, Scott has also been writing and recording music for the follow-up to his 2006 release, Allegory of the City. After two years of immursing himself in the production side of the spectrum, Scott has decided to get back to what he lloves most. Singing and writing music. Keep your eyes peeled for new music on this site over the next few months. If things go well you will be able to purchase the songs in some shape or form soon. Thanks and have a good day.
