  • Sounds Like

wtf is alternafolkpunktronica? at my live shows, i play an acoustic guitar, amped thru an effects processor, fingerpicking and strumming, in a unique "folk" and/or "punk" style. [for a taste of that, listen to "Friends Don't Fall in Love"] when i'm recording, i use garageband to add fuller arrangements to my voice and guitar, or work in garageband exclusively to create instrumental sonic adventures that i would never be able to physically play, bringing in the "electronica" element. [i've also recently started adding vocals into this approach as well: "My Favorite Girl" on my Passiondogs page, and a new song i'm writing that may be up soon.] whatever methods, tools and/or instruments i'm using, i strive to create a sound and style that i think is uniquely my own, "alternative" in the truest sense of the word, and yet draws on the influences of a wide variety of artists and genres. "alternafolkpunktronica" is my way of poking fun at the absurdities of pigeonholing music into genres, and yet it is also probably a pretty fair description of my music. the only way you're going to know my music is to listen... either it moves you or it doesn't. nothing else matters.
