Scotty Spenner is a dedicated musician, plays numerous instruments and performs in several genres, specializing in blues and americana.
At 9 years old, he received his first guitar and was playing gigs by the time he was 19.
Scotty came to Phoenix, AZ from the East Coast in 1980, and by 1983 he became the original guitarist with Valley blues legend Big Pete Pearson and the Blue Sevilles and went on to work with many other Phoenix area blues bands throughout the 80's and 90's.
After living and playing briefly in Los Angeles, in 1992 Scotty moved to the midwest to be close to family and fronted a traditional blues band that played clubs and festivals throughout the midwest. During this time Scotty also honed his solo acoustic act, playing festivals and coffee houses and recording a solo blues CD, "The First Thing Smokin", which was released in 1996 to rave reviews in Blues Review, Blues Access and NYCD Blue magazines.
Here are some of the reviews:
"This is a stunning CD! I'll be playing this on "Monday Morning Blues" frequently. This cd needs to be heard and played on the air."
Leslie Ann Knight of KKUP -FM of Santa Clara, Ca.
Scotty "...is as an acomplished blues performer this side of the Mason - Dixon Line as there is."
-Central Iowa Blues Society, December 1996.
"On this disk, Scotty turns out one of the finest acoustic blues performances you're likely to find on any label, independant or otherwise. Like the best of the acoustic blues artists, Scotty manages to pack big punch in little volume. Many of these tracks are as powerful as they are because of their tremendous subtlety."
-Edward Liu, NY CD Blues 1997.
"...belting out what sounds like the echoing of a railroad car rolling into the deep south."
-Sioux City Tempest 1994
Since returning to Arizona in 1998, Scotty has stayed busy teaching music, working with Phoenix area bands, and performing solo.
In his years performing, Scotty has had the good fortune to work shows with Robert Jr. Lockwood, John Hammond, Duke Robillard, Johnny Winter, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Johnnie Johnson, Billy Boy Arnold, Jimmy Rogers, Smokin Joe Kubek, Janiva Magness, Honey Boy Edwards, Alvin "Youngblood" Hart, Rory Block, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Buddy Guy, KoKo Taylor, Taj Mahal, Bobby Bland, Luther Allison, and many other legends of the blues.
Scotty loves to teach guitar. He is fluent in many acoustic and electric guitar styles, and also teaches mandolin and the ukelele. So if you are learning to play guitar and live in Arizona, here is your teacher!
Scotty is represented by Buddah Global Entertainment.

I wish you & yours the happiest of New Years as well. 2008 was a bitch for a number of reasons so I'm looking forward to a much happier & less crazy 2009.
Hey Buddy, same to you! We just got back from CA on New Year's Day, visiting Carleen's family. While we were out there we got to see a concert with X, The New York Dolls, and Cracker. Oh, and a lot of sun, but you're used to that in Phoenix. Remember what winters are like up here? Great picture, you're looking good. All my best wishes for you and your family as well.
No, that's not me (as you know), that's Billy Zoom
