The history of the Boston-based metal band Scourge is a long and twisting tale. However, for the sake of keeping this biography short, we will only be highlighting key moments and points of interest. Please enjoy these fun facts about Scourge!
-Scourge formally began when Jeremy Pastrick and David Lee met at college in 2003 as bright-eyed young adults. During the fall and winter of 2003 they jammed on and off and started forming songs that would later become the band known as Scourge.
-The early years of Scourge were mostly uneventful. The band recorded several low-quality demos with numerous line up changes sprinkled throughout.
-Scourge at one point was a six-piece band, and after ceasing to have a keyboard player in the band, they remained a five-piece for a number of years.
-After four different drummers, two bass players, one vocalist and four keyboard players, Scourge is now a four-piece band.
-The upcoming release of the 'God Is Not Here' EP will mark the first professional Scourge recording.
This concludes our brief tour of the band known as Scourge. As an added bonus, we have asked the band members where they may see themselves in the upcoming years. Below are their responses:
David Lee (Vocals): After years of abusing his neck and back via head-banging on stage, Mr. Lee predicted that he would become addicted to prescription pain killers. His addiction would eventually lead to depression and possibly suicide.
Jeremy Pastrick (Guitar, lead guitar and vocals): Jeremy Pastrick told us that he expects to battle through a bitter series of divorces. As the divorce count rises Mr. Pastrick predicts he will also lose his hair due to stress and uncontrolled drinking.
Jon Huntley (Bass): Jon was quick to say that he would be the first member to seek rehabilitation for his rampant drug use. Despite treatment, he predicts that he will relapse indefinitely and more than likely overdose.
Rich Crowley (Drums): Rich didn't tell us anything that was worth noting for this report, however, his band mates did vote him most likely to come out of the closet.
