In 1996 SCRAPY began as a classic punkband which was slightly influenced by ska. No long after this, the quintett reached the size of a football team, by finding a suitable brass section. They were ready to start: in 1997 their first 7 was released. Going a long distance from the ska-punk-mix of the beginning, they created their own style and called it STREETSKA. This meant separating the two styles (wonderful and a bit melancolic ska / rocksteady songs on the one hand and rousing and fighting oi / punk songs on the other) without one of each losing intensity or credibility. This kind of music convinced MAD BUTCHER RECORDS to start a succesful cooperation.
Since then SCRAPY has been recording three longplayers and a split with the streetpunkband STAGE BOTTLES and also appeared on countless compilations, always refining their own style. One of their supporters is DR. RING DING, who produced their debut you better wake up! as well as their third record unsteady times.
In 2007 SCRAPY decided to make some changes. Their 4th CD/LP "THE SMART SENSATION" was released on europes number 1 SKA-Label GROVER RECORDS!

SCRAPY is one of the hardest working and touring ska bands in Europe. They know exactly where they belong to: out on the streets to share their ideals, their energy and their music with sweaty and good mooded people in smoky and stuffy clubs....
SCRAPY has played countless concerts in nearly every European country wherever they found a microphone and some people who love good music. They shared the stage with bands like LOADED, SKARFACE, DR. RING DING, THE HOTKNIVES, THE SLACKERS, THE PEACOCKS, BAD MANNERS, BAMBIX, BLUEKILLA, KLASSE KRIMINALE, STAGE BOTTLES, NO RESPECT, THE MOVEMENT or CITIZEN FISH always filling the audience with enthusiasm.

Because of their enormous live-presence they have been noticed by a film team, that was shooting the documentary "Skinhead Attitude", which was awarded several times up to now. Their interview and appearance in this movie has got them additional attention.
The boys and girls from SCRAPY will continue doing what they do best: playing their honest and energetic music live to people all over europe.
