Scythian (sith-ee-yin) belts out a high-energy, adrenaline-peddling, interactive brand of music with one goal in mind; to get people on their feet and dancing. These classically trained musicians are natural showmen who seamlessly blend kicked-up Celtic, folk and world music, and deliver it with a punk-rock sensibility. Combine this with the driving rhythm of a jazz percussionist, and you've got the ingredients for a show you won't soon forget. In a single song, they transport an audience across the globe with the alluring and dramatic strains of gypsy fiddles, the bounce of a Celtic reel, and then cross back over the border to pick up a klezmer hook and some good old-fashioned bluegrass licks.
Thanks for the add! You guys are quickly becoming one of my favorites:) By the way, I just read the 'bios' on your website and just about died laughing, so thanks for that!
You know, poor Albannach just wanted to do their thing at the Ceilidh and be left alone. But no, you guys had to mess with them. What did they ever do to you?
Fantastic! When you have the show at O’Mainnin’s Pub, I'm going to be at the BMW rally in Johnson City...right down Highway 81. 30 minutes by car, 10 by Beemer!
Thanks for the awesome shows at Celtic Fling! Your prank on Albannach is the most awesome thing I've ever seen. Kudos! Great job leading the ceilidh and getting everybody to play together at the end. It worked great!
Celtic Fling was so much fun - can't wait until next year's Fling. Between Dance All Night and Hey Mamma Ya (which I played at least twice in a row!), my first day back to work since the weekend was a lot better!! And Dan, you've been a blonde and a brunette - you should really try a redhead, especially for opening weekend of the PA Faire. :)
Hi! You guys were amazing at the Celtic fling. I know you had over hundreds of people asking for you to sign those photos, but I was one of them, and I forgot to say thanks. So thanks for signing it =D You guys are soooo great<333.
