  • Bio

Sea Bass Kid are a 6 Piece band based in Edinburgh Scotland. They have been playing for 4 years and have danced their way into the Scottish music scene with their unique blend of catchy hooks, funky grooves and original vocal stylings. With obvious influences in reggae, ska, funk, surf and all world music the band manage to mix all of these sounds into one of which can only be described as Sea Bass Kid. Highly Energetic live performances and great crowd interaction has proved a lot of fun at sbk shows. Some of the highlights from last year include playing alongside Big Fat Panda and Urang Matang at The Ska For Sick Kids evening promoted by Scot Ska in the Summer. As-well as headline slots at James Morrow's SOUND events at Voodoo Rooms. With Monthly appearances at Whistlebinkies over the last year the band have built a steady following of skanking fans. Flavoured lashings of many musical styles perhaps evidence of this multi cultural group. Bass player Jose De Las Heras from Madrid Spain. Trumpet/vox player Dima Batrakou from Belarus. Half Turkish Lead guitarist/vox Jamie Yavraturk . Neil Bisset on Drums and Andrew Price on Rhythm guitar/vox are both from Ednburgh Scotland. Stuart Gentleman on Lead guitar/vox is from Galashiels in the Scottish Borders. Some of the members other projects include – Richt Hoat Chili peppers, Radge against the machine and Jamaraquai tribute acts. Their first album is due for release on April 27th 2013. Recorded in a disused Edinburgh church by local Musician and Producer Andy Duncan of Miyagi. With ten energetic tracks they hope it leaves the listener dying to hear what will come next and searching for the next live show. Sea Bass Kid are regularly performing at venues throughout Scotland.
