About me:
When I was ten, I decided that I wanted to be part of the giant creative process that makes movies and perhaps one day make them myself. For nearly fifteen years now I've been working as a freelance assistant editor on feature films at Warners and Disney and Sony. What I've learned since has been mind-boggling but fortunately has not ruined my belief in the magic of the moving image. Motion Pictures are the same as prehistoric cave paintings, only they move and have the benefit of 5.1 surround.
I have written five screenplays, a stage play and a novella and I wrote them all without the help of a coffee shop. Writing is a personal experience, like finding a mate or a god, and posing with a laptop in a cafe in a desperate attempt to get noticed is just sad. I write because I love to, and I write at home. That isn't to say it's easy; it takes me months, sometimes years, to connect the dots of a story. I run scripts through my head as complete films, projected on the movie theatre in my brain, then I write them down. My long experience in editing has helped me form my ideas, and it's paid me at the same time.
I don't know why I'm on MySpace. I work in a studio and network there and at Guild events. I have friends already whom I've known forever. I really dislike the idea of relating to people through a computer monitor. But a very good friend of mine spun one of those colored twirly things before my eyes and repeated, "You need a MySpace... You need a MySpace... You need a MySpace..." over and over again until I was convinced that I needed a MySpace. Should be fun. If it isn't, I'm deleting you all back into the oblivion from which you came.
Myself as Witness,
Sean
