"All men should strive to learn, before they die, what they are running from, and to, and why." ~ James Thurber
"Live your life so that the fear of death can never enter your heart. When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light. Give thanks for your life and your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. And if perchance you see no reason for giving thanks, rest assured the fault is in yourself." ~ Tecumseh

Movies
Did I mention I love movies?
Yeah, I do.
My tastes run from high-brow to low-brow and a bit of everything in-between.
I follow the schedule on Turner Classic Movies religiously, usually see three or four movies a month and love tweaking my Netflix queue every few days!
A few favorites:
>> Run Lola Run
>> The Motorcycle Diaries
>> Blade Runner
>> The Bourne Identity
>> The Day The Earth Stood Still
>> Auntie Mame
>> A Very Long Engagement
>> North By Northwest
>> Bend It Like Beckham
>> The Hunt for Red October
>> Now, Voyager
>> Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
>> Heathers
>> Akira
>> Casablanca
Television
Once upon a time, TV didn't occupy a lot of my leisure time. Right now, that's a different story.
Rounding up, I'd have to say I'm a news junkie, I get lost in documentaries for hours on end and think I've seen just about every program on The History Channel.
I also love Adult Swim on The Cartoon Network, random old cartoons found on Boomerang late at night and am a big fan of anime wherever and whenever I can find it.
I was obsessed with the latest season of History Detectives on PBS, although this last one wasn't the best in the series. I'm probably watching Nova or Frontline right now.
If you don't support public broadcasting, shame on you.

Heroes
I have a lot of heroes.
Everyone needs a template, right?
Mine tend to be flawed entreprenuerial dreamers and cynical humorists. Some are or were successes in life; some were dismal failures.
A quick sample from the top of the bin: Alan Turing, Harper Lee, Katherine Hepburn, James Thurber, Ben Franklin, U.S. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga), Tennessee Williams, Jack London, Mark Twain ...

Let's cut to the chase. You want specifics, right? Well, let's see: I'm a movie buff, a foodie and, sources say, a damn fine writer.
Yeah, I take care of myself, love a good joke and never met a stranger. If I look familiar, you probably met me at A] the tea dance; B] the fund-raiser; or C] the airport bar. Yes, I'm on the guest list.
And, no, that was not me dancing on top of the box at Backstreet that Sunday morning in 2002 and, OK, fine, if you insist, I'll deny everything so just drop it, OK?!?
Actually, I'm really fun, cute, smart and -- well, dammit, people like me! You can judge for yourself. If there's anything particular you'd like to know, just drop me a line.
Otherwise, follow my regular hijinks and adventures over on my blog, www.rocketgarage.blogspot.com.
Cheers and thanks for visiting!

Hey you... how ya been? The next time we all get together and go out you'll have to go with us! Check out the pics from my GNO 4/08 album.. :) Have a fab. weekend Sean! tlo:)
Oh Sean, it's been so long. I hope you have a VERY happy birthday tomorrow. I've decided that 2008 is going to be my year...I have a feeling it's going to be yours too!
I figure I might as well put it out there what I'm looking for. :) That's Melissa in my picture, and yeah, she's very pretty. Have a great holiday man, I'm looking forward to time with my family through Christmas then partying with my friends through New Years and well into 2008! :)
Man, don't even get me started. The movie was great except for the Transformers. Since when did Optimus have a mouth? "Black" Jazz was just annoying (we all know what they were trying to do there). Megatron as a plane? C'mon! Ya know, I didn't mind the more modern/parts-like bodies, but at least make the faces look the same. Although the tricked out flames on Optimus was stupid. And what was up with Soundwave being a little b*tch stick-figure? I swear, I'm gonna smack Michael Bay if I ever meet that guy. Then give him a hug cuz I love Bad Boys. I was kinda disappointed.
Went to the annual TCS holiday party Thursday night at Compound. There was a continuous loop of photos from last year's party, including some fun ones of us. If I get my hands on them, I'll send them your way.
Hey Sean...thanks for stopping by. Always great to hear from you. I sure miss you...it's not the same without seeing your smiling face in a crowd on the dancefloor! I hope all is well. Let me know when you come back to Atlanta for a visit...XOK
I just want to say thanks for being so patient with me at work. You are hilarious and I like working with you. I hope that you have a great weekend. See you on Monday.
