Sean Shiel--vocals, 6-string and 12-string acoustic guitars, banjo
::JAMBASE REVIEW, OPERATION ADAPTATION 2009:: "While in 2008, there might've been a handful of spectators for the earliest sets on Saturday, the house was already pretty packed for Sean Shiel's set around 1:00. The unabashed Keller Williams stand-in was the perfect warm-up artist, as well as an ideal backdrop for the vital hula hoop scene, which included at least one real artist this year; she briefly took over the main floor in front of the bikes and got the kind of attention you're just not going to achieve at a big-name fest. Sheil himself is a crowd-pleaser, wowing us with Phish's "The Inlaw Josie Wales," and refreshingly acknowledging the sincerest form of flattery with Williams' "Freeker By The Speaker." I hadn't seen Sheil since Op:Ad '08, but the man has progressed..."

Sean Shiel is a solo acoustic performer based out of a small town in northern Illinois. Prominantly a guitar player and singer, Sean draws upon a lifetime of influences to produce a sound that is his own. This rootsy fusion of bluegrass, funk, folk, and a few made up words will surely get those toes a tappin'.
Thriving most in the live setting, Sean has toured and performed throughout the midwest, and has appeared at such festivals as 10,000 Lakes...Bella Sol...Bella Madre...Fat Fest...Log Jam...Campout Roots Festival & Gathering...Strip Mines Music Fest...Operation Adaptation...Feel Good Fest...Blottopia...New Earth Festival...Lounging in Romance...Peace Conspiracy's Annual Community Festival, Hoodilidoo Music & Art Fest, and many more...
Sean has been fortunate enough to share the festival lineup with a myriad of amazing bands and musicians, including Phil Lesh & Friends, Dave Matthews Band, Bob Weir & Ratdog, Umphrey's McGee, String Cheese Incident, Keller Williams, Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood, Mickey Hart Band, Gov't Mule, Derek Trucks Band, The Flaming Lips, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Railroad Earth, Leftover Salmon, Little Feat, Galactic, Wookiefoot, Lotus, Particle, MOFRO, EOTO, Cornmeal, The Disco Biscuits, Dark Star Orchestra, Family Groove Company, Garaj Mahal, Backyard Tire Fire, and Fat Maw Rooney, to list a few.
