'Angels' is 11 tracks that came out of necessity.
There was an innocence that informed the first album, 'Corrugations'. The songs were built on the optimism of learning to play and perform. 'Angels' comes from a much darker place with more layers of instrumentation and riven with a fury at a world where everything has been reduced to the consistency of a tepid viscous gloop, where politics is a fashion, where music is mediocrity, and where celebrity has replaced substance. In a world of shopping malls and rabib consumerism, no one seems to pause and wonder who profits from all the crap that we're being sold, or who owns the supermarkets where a world without meaning is on display. 'Angels' is a response to this - the idea that everything is the same and there is no difference between life and death. 'Angels' is 11 tracks that came out of necessity.
Sounds Like
The musicians I admire have all set themselves against the way things are: Tom Waits, JJ Cale, and John Martyn; Skip James, Marvin Gaye, and James Brown; Gillian Welch, Cat Power, and Mary Gauthier; Rainer Ptacek, Tinariwen, and Stevie Ray Vaughan; Neil Young, Calexico, and Iron & Wine

I hope you'll forgive a bit of shameless merchandising. My new CD is out. Still doin' the Jazz thing, but this is definitely not your father's organ trio!
CD Baby's got it; there are samples, links & digital downloads on my Myspace page.
Nice surprise to stumble upon you in the underground yesterday. Will make sure I catch you again soon in order to purchase a CD. Been meaning to do that for a while...
Thanks you for performing at the Willoughby for Paint The Town Green and RePlay - it was good to see you especially the piano playing. Received some great feedback about your set.
Hello gorgeous, hows you?? Good I hope. Just thought I'd drop by and offer my condolances re: Boris Johnson. So sorry mate!! Accept my Scouse solidarity xx
Your music managed to pull almost everone in who'd just come there for a drink. If we weren't already, I think we're now all Sean Taylor fans. I owe you one, hope you can come to another night in the future.
Angels arrived through my door yesterday. Now there's a phrase I don't get to write every day! But I digress...
It's a fabulous piece of work mate. I thoroughly enjoyed your previous CD, but this is a big leap forward even from that. Great tunes & excellent production on it too.
Hey Sean, songs still sounding amazing. I'm off to the post office with a jiffy, it's got your name on it. Knock em' (or shoot em') dead tonight in barnes.
Hey Groundhogs brilliant just have a great night. Angels ...what you say is right on and the consumerism ..yeah viscous gloop it is alright, love and many smiles liz
God I've been a real ass and taken ages to get back to you about the album and teh up front version you gave me for comments looks like everyone else has summed it up pretty well already. You can add "Spellbinding" from me.. there are not many people that can tempt me away from a trip to the bar at a festival and make me stand in a freezing cold tent to watch them - but you are one of those people - armed with nothing but a hat, a guitar and your songs. Much of that mood is captured on the album. Hope it does well! Let me know when u come to play doen on teh South Coast - we'll get you in for a session!
Hi Sean, Thanks for the CD! I really enjoy listening to it! I am wondering how you manage to not have an English accent at all? All the best to you for the Holidays! Peace and Love from the USA! KATE
Excellent work on the album, Sean. Post arrived safely and appropriate homes are being sought. I might send one off to Belfast. Anyway, you must be feeling very proud of it. It's good to see you all properly packaged in cellophane, so to speak... although I miss your individual handmade covers. Nice mix of new songs and old classics too. Well, I've heard a lot of them taking shape over the years, they've come together beautifully. Cheers. :D
Judging by the four tracks presented here, "Angels" is a marvellous album. The piano-dominated "America Part Two" has a chaste dignity. "The Underworld" begins with singing and soft drumming and ends with an extended instrumental climax featuring guitar and piano. "None Of Us Are Free" is a moody and determined song with guitar and organ. "Shoot Them Dead" has a quiet insistence that is lulling and seductive with an African feel in the guitarring and really subtle singing - my favourite track - ravishing!
Hi Sean, best of luck with the new album and thanks for letting us use a track on the new Gloss Club compilation (due out February 2008). Look forward to welcoming you to The Gloss Club in the New Year. Best wishes, J. Eoin.
