LIVE VIDEO FEED FROM ELECTRIC HEAD STUDIOS-KIRKLAND, WA
With a resume that speaks volumes, Second Coming is a band that is just around the corner from world-wide success. They're a band that has been through the music industry grinder and come through with a new-found sense of fortitude and strength. They are accomplished musicians, performers, and songwriters with a vision that is true expression of the experiences they have been through. Most important Second Coming is about one thing, the music, and what they create cannot be described by mere words alone, but must be experienced first hand.
Possessing the sweeping grandeur of the name Second Coming, there is no doubt that there had better be some serious music of substance to justify the moniker. One listen, to the new songs on the current self-produced project '13', showcases why they have a base of over 100,000 avid fans always hungry for more material and new releases.
Now for a little history of the band that has the Pacific Northwest and soon the entire music world buzzing again. Second Coming's roots trace back to the childhood alliance of bassist Johnny Bacolas and drummer James Bergstrom. The duo played in various bands around their hometown of Seattle and in the 90's ended up forming the nucleus of Second Coming. The essence of the Second Coming sound was fully realized with the addition of vocalist Travis Bracht. Then Second Coming worked the club scene around Seattle furiously forging their own distinctive sound and style.
Ready for the studio, the band enlisted producer Kelly Gray, and their efforts were rewarded with a self-financed, eight-song recording by the end of '97. It was those eight songs that led to a frantic bidding war between such high-profile labels as Columbia, Capitol and Elektra. Gary Gersh, Capitol Records President at the time, personally signed the band in May of '98 and by mid-summer they had a Top 10 radio track with the first single "Soft."
Unfortunately, Gersh left the company shortly thereafter. Even with little label support, Second Comings' debut went on to 'scan over 75,000 units from radio play in over 150 markets in the U.S., word of mouth, and the strength of their live shows. Having their music blaring at the commercial segways of the MTV music awards and appearing in the Bruce Willis film "The 6th Sense" just added more fuel to the fire (middle of the movie during the B-day Party, listen for "The Unknown Rider"see film credits).
In 2001, believing it was time for a change, the band negotiated the rights to their first album and removed themselves from the confusion at Capitol.
With the addition of guitarist Eric Snyder, who brought a new found power to Second Coming's invincible sound, the band was once again destined for success. In 2003 Second Coming released '13' (once again produced by Kelly Gray) on Electric Head Records and distributed the recording through their own website, Amazon.com, and iTunes. In 2006, Bacolas [www.yannibacolas.com] and Snyder formed the group The Crying Spell [www.thecryingspell.com] while Second Coming took a hiatus. Bracht performs with locals 'Point Defiance'. As of Summer 2008, the band has a record "almost" finished.
How ya'll been doing? My brotha, Bigmac, says hello to all of you..Hey, me and Bigmac recorded a few new tunes together, yes he can actually play the bass. Our newest song is called, "Deep Inside". Bigmac played the bass on this song, and I did the rest including the singing. My band, "Whiskey LaBido", is just taking a break. So untill then, it's me and my bro! Later, Nod.
On Oct. 3rd I almost went into the great big sleep as well as my kids. I just wanna see another show before I go. can you help a friend and a fan out? this is not a joke, we had a house fire and if it wasn't for my wife, I wouldn't be typing this now. So what do you guys say? a show for the friends and fans would be cool.
What's up guys? I just wanted to know if you guys would add the song "Screaming on the inside" the acoustic version to your player? I'd love to add that song to my profile. Thanks you guys are awesome.
I can't believe it's been 10 years since I saw you guys at the Afterween show in the streets of Orlando. I was front and center, and somewhat fucked up, and Yanni and Travis signed my tits. I remember it like it was yesterday. You still sound great, keep it up!!!
Wow. That Travisty accoustic solo T did shot me right in the heart. Props. I'm hoping that you're planning on your five year reunion now. ;) Think we all are really.
Hey SC! I wouldnt say you're my idol but I read what the homie said below me and I couldnt agree more Travis. What the hell happened with this band anyways? You guys got heard on Sixth Sense soundtrack and ran with AIC back in the day. Point being, you guys are more talented than you may know or these corrupt record labels know thats for damn sure. As far as singing for AIC, I think you would be the best man for the job Travis no doubt in my mind, and this stupid clown singing for them but to keep the name AIC is nothing but disrespectful to Layne and the band he led. Let Layne rest in peace by changing the damn name at least, and you can thank Jerry's dumb ass for all the spot lights he should have left alone. AIC died with Layne, PERIOD! Tell that glamer boy dip shit who's singing for "AIC" to stand down
I don't what happened between the band, but if Travis no longer part of this band is a huge f'in mistake. I only wish that man the best.
and if the rest of the band forgot about Layne, shame on the band of second coming. at least 1 member knows where his heart is. Think about H - bomb.
Hey T think about all that you have went through with Layne. and remember that your the man for the job. so 2c had better remember of the singer that could put them in a crying spell.

Travis just think about what you've done and what you can do with AIC.
you my friend are my Idol and one I respect forever.
You my friend, deserve Layne's replacement no matter how much you think about it. or how much it HURTS. Don't what happened between the band, but if Travis no longer part of this band is a huge f'in mistake. I only wish that man the best.
