Risen from the ashes of the punk/rock'n'roll-bands DISTRICT and THE REVOLVERS, coming from the Ruhr area, 2nd DISTRICT formed in the summer of 2005. They released a 7" Single, called "Young&disorderly", on Drunk'n'Roll Records, followed by the album "Emotional Suicide" on People Like You Records. With this output and many gigs in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Poland etc.-these guys showed that they belong to the spearhead of german underground punkrock. Their music, a mixture of Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, Dead Boys, Slaughter&the Dogs, Eater, but also bands like New York Dolls, T-Rex, Hanoi Rocks etc. is second to none in Germany. The boys just finished the recordings for their new album "Poverty makes Angry", which will be released on People Like You/Dirty Faces in January/February 2009, so: Watch out!

Grigoropoulos bei einer Auseinandersetzung zwischen Autonomen und der
Polizei im Athener Stadtteil Exarcheias durch eine Polizeikugel
getötet. Sein Tod löste nicht nur in Griechenland, sondern europaweit
Proteste und Aktionen gegen Polizeigewalt aus. In Düsseldorf gingen
über 100 Menschen zu einem spontanen Gedenken auf die Straße. Anlässlich
des Jahrestages von Alexandros Tod rufen wir zur Teilnahme an der
Gedenkdemonstration gegen Polizeigewalt und staatliche Repression am 6.
Dezember um 15 Uhr ab Oberbilker Markt (Düsseldorf) auf.
