using two pedro cats I had played previously w/in the madonnabes (in its last incarnation) - pete mazich on hammond organ and jerry trebotic on drums - I put this band together in 2002 to make my second punk rock opera, "the secondman's middle stand" which was inspired by an illness that almost killed me in 2000. we recorded the album in 2004 after first doing a few tours. petra haden helped w/the backup singing.
cuz of both pete and jer having both longshoremen and family committments, I had to sometimes substitute cats to replace them on tour and both paul roessler and raul morales helped me out much and did great w/the material I had written for the original lineup.
I still do occasional gigs w/pete and jer as the secondmen but mostly local ones and hopefully I can find the time to write and record w/them another album cuz I dig them much and there's nothing like having a bass-organ-drum trio to wail your heart to... much respect to both them and paul/raul.
it was an extreme pleasure and honor to share the stage with you guys at the rock paper scissor shows last weekend. you all truly blew us (and everyone else) away with your amazing performances! take care and keep doing what you're doing!

On this about-two-month run, I have gotten Strung OUT like a DAWG on the Secondmen....I realize it's gonna come to an end in a bit, and I'm not looking forward to the gnarly KICK, but thank GOD I got a couple more chunks left to fix before I have to "face the music"....ROCK ON, Harbor Dwellers!!!
