Secret Broadcast's short history began in Calgary, Canada in 2006. Since then, they have played alongside such acts as Oasis, Stone Temple Pilots, Flaming Lips, The Fratellis, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Metric, The Stills, and Stereophonics, and have been invited to perform at such festivals as Virgin Festival Calgary and Toronto, North-by-Northeast (NXNE), Canadian Music Week (CMW), Vans Warped Tour and JunoFest. They also recently took top honor in the "Oh Henry! What Feeds Your Hunger?" contest, which was judged by various industry heavyweights including Sir Richard Branson, beating out over 300 bands across Canada.
In late 2008, Secret Broadcast caught the ear of Juno Award winning producer/engineer Laurence Currie (Sloan, Wintersleep, In-Flight Safety) and quickly began recording material for their debut full-length LP. With 'Exploding Spiders' completed and set for an August release, and a cross-Canada tour to follow in the Fall, 2009 will undoubtedly be a landmark year in their career.
