PLYMOUTH MASSACHUSETTS is Stephie Peeka & The SEEKING 7. MOODY NEW ENGLAND ROCK N ROLL,
led by the new and unique female voice of SINGER/SONGWRITER/GUITARIST,
STEPHIE PEEKA, SeeKing 7 is part of
the ROcK n RoLL REVOLUTION.
In her teens, Stephie was asked to join on guitar for the all-girl band, BARACUDA. They were based in Las Vegas and relocation would have been required.
"I was way too immature and insecure to do it then", she says. "It was also encouraging to me since Suzi Quatro and Joan Jett both did the all-girl band early in their career. Seeing what came of it in each musicians lives, it wasn't meant to be for me cuz LOL my path is my frakin own!!!!!!" ;D
She is joined by DRUMMER JEFF ARMSTRONG/VOX
and SEAN MCLAUGHLIN ON BASS and now special guest, JOE CLAPP ON GUITAR/VOX
this unique trio creates an evocative hybrid of ROCK N ROLL,
punk, alternative, and funky melodic songs containing passion and vision.
SeeKing 7 have been playing in NEW ENGLAND since February 2003 debut at the NEW WAVE CAFE in New Bedford, Mass and around Boston clubs TT the BEARS in Cambridge, THE SKY BAR in Somerville, O'BRIENS in Allston, ABBEY LOUNGE in Somerville, The MIDDLE EAST upstairs in Cambridge, HENNESSY'S near Fanueil Hall, Boston, The CANTAB Lounge in Cambridge Mass, PA's LOUNGE & CLUB GOODTIMES in Somerville Mass, THE CONTINENTAL, ACE OF CLUBS, THE ANNEX in NEW YORK CITY, Upstairs @ EDWARDS Hammersmith, LONDON ENGLAND.
Their songs are spun on local radio airplay on PIXY 103 FM, and at www.PIXY103.com SeeKing 7 are ARTIST OF THE MONTH for April 2004.

I know that bar rock means a hundred things to a hundred people, but what I mean by it here is that I picture this three-piece starting their set in a crowded, noisy bar, where the hipper-than-thou are trying to figure out how to drink a beer with both arms crossed over their chests, but are then forced to take notice of the music and remember why they’re in a bar that has live music instead of a bar filled with mirrors.
Stephie Peeka is a multi-tasker extraordinaire–she handles all the vocals and guitars here, as well as keys and assorted other sound-making. She has a voice that I’m willing to bet soars out of a P.A. and right through crowd-noise.
Oh, it’s clever enough to be more than just pop rock, and the louder I play it, the better (Stephie’s no slouch on guitar).
