About me:
I have been in love with art all of my life. I have drawn, painted, sculpted, photograhed many times. I would often lose my interest or inspiration quickly. Nothing has ever captured my creativity like the gourd. I have always been a lover of folk art. True folk art. Beauty made by the hand using organic materials. I consider my work folk art. I have no formal training and an endless list of gourd creations floating in my head. After choosing my gourds based on an idea or seeing a gourd that inspires an idea, I clean, cut, and carve my gourds. I often use paper mache which I sculpt and sand to enhance my piece. Each piece is finished by hand using acrylics. There is no perfect symmetry with gourds so each piece is truly one of a kind.
Who I'd like to meet:

I don't have photos yet, I am still experimenting. Maybe I will put some up after my “gourd run“. Last night I was making a self-gourd and a passer by said it was "the perfect squirrel monkey"! I couldn’t finish it as myself after the interruption and now it is becoming something else.

I painted 4 gourds in 4 different styles of art (so far). I have made people and Mexican folk art figures. I bought a whole bunch of gourds and my house was already filled with art and art supplies! I do love your art! Maybe your make a book of it.

So I bought some gourds to paint and I have to tell you, it is NOT easy! Actually much more difficult than I thought. I give you lots of recognition for what you do.
I am even more impressed with your art work!

Someone invited me to a gourd art festival in Folsom Ca. I thought of your art work. Will you be showing art there? I think it was at the end of this month.

Sounds like an awesome plan! Are you selling them? Or are they for your own collection?
