BEHOLD THE REAL SEMBLANT BEFORE THE LAST NIGHT OF MORTALITY BECOMES REALITY
A personalidade por trás da máscara começou a ser moldada no final de 2005.
Partindo da visão sinérgica entre sensualidade e intensidade da voz feminina e da versatilidade vocal e peso da voz masculina, os cantores Katia Shakath e Sergio Mazul (Maelström) resolveram criar um projeto que ultrapassasse as fronteiras do óbvio e do senso comum na música pesada; tais estágios eram exatamente aonde bandas com vocais de ambos os sexos estavam, no então rotulado gothic metal ou demais gêneros / subgêneros da música pesada com formações similares.
Com o objetivo pleno de criar uma obra nova e repleta de identidade marcante, uma busca cautelosa pela "família" certa foi inevitável.
Roberto Hendrigo, experiente guitarrista, compositor e professor de música repleto de métodos próprios juntou-se à banda, agregando peso, riffs e pegada instrumental extremamente contrastante e positiva ao som da banda.
Cândido Oliviera, baterista, aliou-se à banda recentemente incorporando influências progressivas, técnicas, precisão e amplo conhecimento musical; ele não é apenas um excelente baterista, mas também é um produtor musical de mão cheia.
J. Augusto, tecladista / compositor / cantor de mão cheia, trouxe harmonizações orquestrais, synths e características atmosféricas para a banda, aumentando o exponencial das idéias iniciais para muito além do esperado.
Leonardo Rivabem, baixista e membro mais recente, emplacou suas influências progressivas e vanguardistas, oriundas de bandas metal 'avant-garde' e experimentais, nas composições que já estavam em andamento e trouxe um plus indispensável com novas idéias. Sua performance ao vivo entrou em 'link' direto com a dos demais membros do grupo, que sempre primaram (desde o início de suas trajetórias individuais como músicos) tanto pela interpretação marcante, quanto pela execução dos sets nos shows.
Estabilizada com 6 membros fixos em 2008, a banda SEMBLANT lançou seu primeiro EP chamado "Behold the Real Semblant", com 3 faixas: "Forever Failure", "Black Babylon" e "Legacy of Blood", que apresentam o contexto geral explorado pelo grupo. O lançamento deste primeiro trabalho foi no Palace of Sin Fest 2, segunda edição do maior festival de bandas dos gêneros doom/gothic/dark no Brasil. A excelente receptividade deste e de todos os shows anteriores culminou no convite para a abertura do Tristania, no dia 16/05/08 em Curitiba/PR, que foi o único show no Brasil onde o Tristania foi headliner e dividiu o palco com uma banda de gênero musical similar.
A SEMBLANT ainda prepara os últimos ajustes para o lançamento de um debut-album chamado "Last Night of Mortality", programado para ser lançando no mês de março de 2010; o lançamento marcará o primeiro registro oficial do grupo e sua estréia no selo Freemind Records, maior selo independente lançando artistas do metal nacional na atualidade, que possui em seu cast brasileiro grandes destaque do gênero como Unearthly, The Ordher, Kamala, Andralls e artistas internacionais licenciados no Brasil como Crematory, Solitude Aerturnus, Aborted, Sinister e muitos outros.
A arte de capa e encarte deste lançamento, bem como todo o design que a banda apresentou desde seu nascimento (logomarca, símbolo, site e myspace) ficam à cargo do renomado artista brasileiro Gustavo Sazes, reconhecido mundialmente pelo seu trabalho com bandas de renome como Arch Enemy, Manowar, Kamelot, Krisiun, Dr Sin, Almah, Sonic Syndicate, Lauren Harris, Lacrimas Profundere, Nightrage e diversos outros ícones da música ao redor do planeta.
Para um ‘aperitivo’ do álbum que está por vir, saciando um pouco a sede dos seus admiradores e da mídia especializada e celebrando o contrato com o selo Free Mind Records, a banda celebra o Halloween de 31 de outubro de 2009 lançando o websingle “Sleepless”, que conta com 4 faixas para serem obtidas sem custo via download do site www.freemindrecords.com.br
No track-list, a banda apresenta a sua quarta música autoral, “Sleepless”, que estará presente no material completo; o single virtual ainda contém versões desplugadas das 3 músicas do primeiro EP “Behold the Real Semblant”: “Forever Failure”, “Black Babylon” e “Legacy of Blood”.
As 3 versões acústicas possuem a participação especial do músico e produtor Maiko Thomé (Lachrimatory, Sarx Thanatos, responsável pelo AvantGarde Studios e produtor do disco) nos violoncelos.
A capa e contracapa do material também foram assinadas pelo designer Gustavo Sazes, que consagra-se ainda mais como parceiro absoluto no contexto visual da Semblant.

Independentemente das referências, a personalidade própria é o que impera nas características do grupo.

The personality behind the mask started to be molded in the end of 2005.
From the synergic vision between the sensuality and intensity of a female's voice and the versatility and strenght of a male's voice, the singers Katia Shakath and Sergio Mazul decided to create a project that could surpass the fronteers of obvious and common sense in heavy music; those positions were exactly where bands with vocalists of both sexes were, on the then labeled gothic metal or the others genres/subgenres of heavy music.
With the plain objective of creating a new work, plenty of remarkable identity, a careful search for the right "family" was inevitable.
Roberto Hendrigo, experient guitar player, composer and music teacher with his own methods joined the band, adding heavyness, riffs and instrumental feeling extremely contrasting and positive to the bands music.
Cândido Oliviera, drummer, has joined the band recently incorporating progressive influences, skills, precision and large musical knowledge; he's not only an excelent drummer but also a full hand sound producer.
J. Augusto, keyboarsit/composer/great singer, brought in orchestral harmonizations,synths and atmospheric caracteristics to the band, getting the exponential of ideas to a higher level way more than expected.
Leonardo Rivabem, bass player and most recent member, input his progressive and vanguardist ideas ,inspired on experimental and "avant-garde" bands, to the ongoing compositions and contribued with an indispensable plus. His live performance fit perfectly with the other members of the band, that always looked after (since the beginning of their individual carriers as musicians) their remarkable stage acting and the execution of the songs in the shows.
Stabilized with 6 permanent members in 2008, the band SEMBLANT prepares the last details to the release of their debut album "Last Night of Mortality", also the first official recordings of the band; there is 11 impacting compositions showing the aforementioned caracteristics, to be released in march 2010th.

At the track-list, the band introduces “Sleepless”, who makes part of the entire work; the virtual single even contains unplugged versions for the 3 songs from “Behold the Real Semblant” EP: “Forever Failure”, “Black Babylon” and “Legacy of Blood”.
The 3 acoustic versions plus the special guest musician and producer Maiko Thomé (Lachrimatory, Sarx Thanatos, responsable for AvantGarde Studios and album's producer) at the cellos.

A parallel universe where noble mask of characteristics and afable personalities hide a demoniac semblant; where everything keeps duality and the eclipse keeps it static: the sparkling and the darkness exists together, there's no way to trust on a first look.
