Cliche. Copycats. Followers. All of these describe the current state of what we know as "the metal scene" here in Texas. In a time when originality and true talent have been traded for haircuts and bathroom mirror pics, one band has stepped up to show "the scene" what metal is really all about. SET AFLAME hails from the live music infused mecca that is Austin, Texas bringing with them a foundation of solid riffs and experienced song writing that sets them leaps and bounds ahead of their peers. Sporting a 3-guitar lineup and an unmatched fury on stage, this 6-member metal party is bent on stripping the pretty facade off of what metal has become today and bringing it back to its grinding, gnarled roots. With the late 2009 addition of their newest member and front man Johnny Ybarra, SET AFLAME stormed into Austin-based Test Tube Audio to lay down what would be their most brutal, ear shattering tunes to date. Party! Party! Party! When the dust had cleared and the last whiskey bottle had been emptied, they emerged in February 2010 to debut their new album "Beheader". Coupled with the ferocity of their sound and their unrelenting stage presence, SET AFLAME's "Beheader" will have you reaching for the medicine cabinet every day to find a cure for your metal neck!
