03/24/09 EPITAPH SIGNS POP-PUNK POWERHOUSE SET YOUR GOALS
Set Your Goal's Highly Anticipated Sophomore Album Due Out in July
Epitaph Records is proud to announce the signing of Bay Area pop-punk crew Set Your Goals with plans to release their sophomore album on July 21st. The band recently wrapped up recording with Mike Green (Paramore, The Matches) and will be hitting the road with labelmates New Found Glory on a cross-country tour.
"Of all our options, Epitaph was our first pick and we're very excited about having a great team of people behind us who will give this record the push we know it deserves," said singer Matt Wilson. "We've put a lot of time into this and it's reassuring to see that they believe in it as much as we do. The staff is very enthusiastic about working with our ideas and there is a dedication to our band here that we've never felt from any other label."
Born out of the Bay Area punk scene, Set Your Goals released an EP in 2006 and their critically acclaimed, fan favorite full length, Mutiny!, later the same year. Immediately grabbing the attention of their fellow bands and fans, the group would go on to tour with the likes of Alexisonfire, Anti Flag and Saves The Day over the next few years. In 2007 the band was featured on the Punk Goes Acoustic 2 compilation and in 2008 they recorded Lil Jon's "Put Yo Hood Up" for the Punk Goes Crunk compilation.
With fan anticipation for the group's sophomore full length at an all time high, Set Your Goals have joined forces with punk's most established label, and have their sights set on making their best album yet.

hey do me a favor and read this. i know it's long but it's very important to me. and please spread the word if you can.
The documentary film The Cove exposes the slaughter of more than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises in Taiji, Japan every year, and how their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is being sold as food in Japan and other parts of Asia, often labeled as whale meat. The majority of the world is not aware this is happening as the Taiji cove is blocked off from the public. The focus of the Social Action Campaign for The Cove is to create worldwide awareness of this annual practice as well as the dangers of eating seafood contaminated with mercury and to pressure those in power to put an end to the slaughter. And it’s been working. The film has been making waves since it premiered last year. Critical praise and audience awards worldwide have focused international attention on Taiji and the annual dolphin drives off the coast of Japan. Under intense pressure, Taiji called for a temporary ban on killing bottlenose dolphins. The film, which was originally rejected, was shown at the Tokyo Film Festival due to public outcry. Residents in Taiji are being tested for mercury poisoning, and for the first time Japanese media are covering the issue. Close to a million people have signed on to the campaign, but this is just the beginning. The fisherman are clearly rattled, but haven’t stopped killing dolphins.

Good show at Tremont in North Carolina you guys! 3rd time seeing you,and I paid like 28$ to see you & drove a hour & a half from SC up there with my boyfriend only to see SYG.
The only bad part about this show that differs from the others though; THERE WERE A MILLION WHORES!!!!
I guess they came for motion city, which really sucked. because I beat the fuck out of this hopped up on cocaine skank in the from center because she kept ramming into me for absolutely no reason. there's a big difference between having fun and bouncing and shoving and intentionally ramming someone as hard as you can,it's lameee.
i always thought more girls in there wouldn't be so bad, but now i realize that i would much rather be in a pit full of guys at least they aren't there to try & get some dick or pussy. just sayin,it was bullshit, and thank god I never seen her face,or else she would've gotten butchered after your set! but i couldn't do shit during it,i paid good money to see you guys.
but anyways, please don't play with a band that favors girls!!! or at least not whores that act like idiots!
you guys kicked assssss at the soapbox tonight.. it was totally worth getting full body slammed and punched in the face.. new favorite band? i think so.. i'll definately be seeing you guys again. :D
