Violences, corruption et guerres ethniques sont les piliers d'un marasme démocratique où l'arbitraire est souvent roi. Et SEYNI le sait. Lui, le guinéen qui regarde son pays se fourvoyer dans les mêmes travers. Lui, l'artiste qui nous livre ses sentiments en musique. Alors, il raconte en malinké, sa langue natale, en français et plus rarement en anglais...
Issu de la longue tradition des Kouyaté – griots de père en fils –Alseyni Kouyaté dit SEYNI dénonce inlassablement les dérives du monde actuel et la souffrance des êtres humains de tous pays.
Durant sa carrière SEYNI a passé plusieurs étapes artistiques: chanteur engagé et militant, danseur professionnel (KOTEBA D’ABIDJAN, ballet national de Guinée), acteur et compositeur («La Vie Platinée» de Claude Cadiou avec MAMADY KEITA dans lequel SALIF KEITA interprète des morceaux de Seyni), musicien pour MORY KANTE (tournées en Afrique).
Son groupe d'actualité YELIBA se compose de 5 musiciens professionnels issus d’horizons différents, tous réunis autour de leur amour de la musique. Ensemble, avec leur chanteur emblématique SEYNI, ils créent le Reggae Yankadi (rencontre des rythmes traditionnels Guinéens et du Reggae Jamaïquain); ils se produisent avec une puissance extra-ordinaire en live.
Cette formation se forme en 2003 et sort une compilation«N’Tara» (Music Action / Mosaic).
2005, Seyni & Yeliba sortent l’album live «Liberté» (Soulbeats Records / Nojcturne).
En 2008 c’est l’album «jMon Général» qui voit le jour (Vmusic).
Entre 2003 et 2009 SEYNI aura fait plus de 500 concerts en France, Afrique, Belgique, Allemagne, Suède, Autriche,Pologne, Suisse, Italie, Espagne, etc…
Le Rototom Reggae Sunsplash, Summerjam, African Music Festival, Nancy Jazz Pulsation, Reggae Sun Ska festival, Musiques Métisses, Rostock sommet social Anti G8, Esperanzah, Fest’Horn (Djibouti).
Seyni & Yeliba a partagé la scène avec des artistes comme Toots and the Maytals, Groundation, The Waillers, Tiken Jah Fakoly, I JahMan, U Roy, Pablo Moses, Aswad, LKJ, Alpha Blondy, Don Carlos, Anthony B, Johnny Clegg, Culture, etc …

It’s not a secret: Africa is suffering. Violence, corruption, and ethnic wars are the main ingredients for a democratic mess where often despotism rules. And SEYNI knows it like no one else. He, the Guinean who is watching his country mislead itself in the same way. He, the artist who spreads his feelings with music. And so he sings and speaks out in Malinké, his native tongue, in French and rarely in English...
Resulting from the long tradition of the Kouyaté – griot from father to son – Alseyni Kouyaté aka SEYNI expresses himself to denounce the sufferings of human beings all over the word.
During his career SEYNI was passing different artistic stages: committed and militant singer, profesionnal dancer (KOTEBA from ABIDJAN, national ballet in Guinea), actor and composer ("La Vie Platinée” de Claude Cadiou with MAMADY KEITA wherein SALIF KEITA interpretes SEYNI's compositions), musician in MORY KANTE’s band (touring in Africa).
His current band YELIBA is consisting of 5 professional musicians of different musical horizons, united for their love of the music. With their charismatic frontman SEYNI they've created this unique musical crossover called YANKADI REGGAE, a fusion of traditional Guinean rhythms and Jamaican Reggae and they are revealing an extra-ordinairy LIVE power on stage!
