A) The Cure + blues
B) The Smiths + grunge
C) Leonard Cohen + punk
D) The Durutti Column when we covered "Sketch for Summer" in 2004 (with Joseph Lawlor on bass and Michel Inserny on drums):
We are a band currently on standby (due to the lack of a drummer) from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Our music has its roots in the post-punk movement of the late 70's and early 80's, characterized by bands such as The Cure, Joy Division/New Order, Gang of Four, Bauhaus, etc. However, while post-punk provides the skeletal form for our style with its emphasis on a tight, danceable rhythm section and innovative arrangements, we add various layers on top, taking from genres such as blues, psychedelic, proto-punk and shoegazing. A good way of describing the end result would be to quote a friend: "Your music is a positive reincarnation of your influences." (See "Influences.")
It is being considered that the name of the band should be changed prior to making a public appearance again, so be on the lookout for an announcement!
thanks for the bass. im not sure whats up with the high action though. i mean, cmon! im a veginish thing and im supposed to be able to play on it like *that*!?! but i guess if i could become strong enough for that, one's strong enough for anything.
Thanks for it back! when i got my 12 string back restrung, i was disappointed bc i realised i missed the bass more.
So 'Preciate.
The gates of hell are opening and the music of the damned shall pour forth and the people shall no longer have doubt and confusion over their true muse...
Nice Video!
Stupid bad lighting at Wetlands Dance Hall!
I wish the camera could catch the bass. Its amazing what it sounds like, with even 2 instruments here already. . .
