Loretta Lynn, Trisha Yearwood, Wynonna, Linda Ronstadt, Bette Midler. I also have great respect for the "new" voices in country who have continued to break down doors for us girls...
Shannon Mock is currently listening to songs to begin working on a new project,
while she has been quickly gaining fans and recognition on the ever popular myspace. She was most recently nominated for a 2006 HEMI Award by a Knoxville radio station in the Future Female Artist category and came in at an impressive 3rd out of 20 nominees! This energetic waiter by trade has been busy climbing the music ladder since her arrival in Nashville, Tennessee almost 7 years ago.
In that time she has been a fixture at the Nashville Predators hockey games where she lends her talent to sing the National Anthem. Americana recording artists Walt Wilkins and Charlie Robison were so impressed with her vocals and song selections that they both have had her open for them at shows in Nashville. Shannon has performed at famed venues The Sutler, Exit/In, 12th and Porter, Douglas Corner, 3rd and Lindsley and The Basement.
During the second season auditions for Nashville Star, Shannon found herself in the final 13 out of 536. While she did not make the show that year, she certainly proved she could compete with the best.
From June to September of 2006, Shannon performed and booked other talented artists for her RowTown ThrowDown live show at The Blue Bar.
This past summer she found herself on the same bill as Earl Scruggs and Mel Tillis! Most recently, she spent a sun filled weekend in Cancun, Mexico as part of Trent Willmons Beach Party. Other artists included Wade Hayes, Jace Everett, Ray Stephenson and Jaime Fox. One of the highlights of her career was opening for The Little River Band to benefit the Alzheimers Association, which she is involved with. She also had the extreme pleasure of opening for hit songwriter Jeffrey Steele. November of 2007 she set sail on a Country Cruise sponsored by Travelin' Inc. with noted artists Danielle Peck, Ray Scott David St. Romain, Shane Thomas and 7th Heaven star, Beverly Mitchell.
Her debut cd, which she released in 2005 on her own BoRox Records, was produced by Greg Morrow and ZZ Top producer, Joe Hardy.
