Sharpie Records, the worst record label in the world, is a CD-R label focused on releasing noise, experimental, and ambient music. Sharpie Records accepts everything that is sent to it, so long as the following rules are obeyed!
1. Each Sharpie Record CD-R can be obtained two ways: you can either buy them directly from me for $100 each, or, you can get four (three plus your own) for every record YOU submit (we don't really expect you buy them for a hundred dollars).
2. Every artist can submit as many albums as they would like, however, each artist name can be used only once. All albums are titled Untitled.
3. So, make some noise, choose three artists' CD-Rs (see the "members" section of this profile), choose a name for your project, and contact me so we can decide how you will get your sounds to me!
My rules (here are the rules I obey when making a Sharpie CD-R)
4. In order to keep up with the label's slogan, all CD-Rs come in handmade reused paper sleeves. By "reused" I mean that the paper was used by someone else for something totally unrelated to Sharpie Records. So for all you pop artists who call on the masses to save paper, yet release CDs with glossy liner notes - suck on that.
5. All text and decorations are made with...you guessed it - Sharpie brand permanent markers!
6. The artist's name must appear (again, in Sharpie) on the cover of the sleeve. If the artist's name comes originally from a language which does not use a Roman alphabet, then that particular orthography is used on the cover! (For instance, my own project "qichan" would actually be labeled using the Chinese characters for "qi" and "chan").
