This special album is all in tribute to me moving away from my home town, my family and my friends. All of the records I used were Detroit pressed, recorded, produced, etc. I then got in touch with a bunch of the original musicians from the records I sampled to play over top of my versions. Musicians included are Dennis Coffey, Lyman Woodard, Skip Vanwinkl, Ron English, Donald Mayberry, and Ted Pulker.
Pretty cool huh? I thought so too. But, If you dont get it its ok, we wont hold it against you.
Anyway, I'm SP. Known to some as The Beat Poet, Saggy Pants, Shawn Coffee Poems, or more recently...Tall Can Stan. Im not a drunk I swear.....I'm just That Dude... LOL. I am a Hip Hoppin' blue collar cat that hails from Detroit Rock City, now living in LA trying to cope with the fact that I'm now living in LA. I do make a hell of a beat from time to time so thats basically what I do when I'm not drinkin' a tall can in my dusty dungerees. I make beats.
