Redneck are a Southern Metal band born in the heart of the Steel City.
With a rib breaking original sound that's earned them positive reviews and feedback on their debut recording "80 proof,"
from several music magazines; from local Sandman to more established Metal Hammer.
They draw most influence from a handful of bands, including Lamb of God, Down, Pantera and Black Label Society.
Although, after "80 proof" was released the band have admittedly started to turn the volume up on the 'metal' half of southern metal.
The raw talent in the band is hard to beat, with two of the best lead guitarists to be found anywhere; a greatly accomplished bassist;
a drummer who effortlessly hammers the shit out of any sound system he plays through; and finally the Frontman, whose gravelly whisky stained singing and vicious metal screams finish the band off fittingly.
So much so is the belief in the band, they landed a gig supporting American metal giants Lamb of God and Unearth in front of a packed Corporation nightclub.
Their only regret on this immense gig was not having their heavier songs to keep up the pace with Lamb of God.
The bands next aim is to get touring around the rest of the UK; coupled with the soon to be recorded EP, this should hopefully be the next step to getting Redneck where they belong on the world stage.
