True Freedom

Our forefathers fought for our rights,
Yet, today we all seem so numb.
Independence Day is the day,
When we celebrate our freedom.

What does freedom really mean?
Are we really free today?
The answer is not political,
Regardless of what others may say.

True freedom lies within God's word,
And there is simply no other way.
* When we know the truth, it sets us free,
So each morning is a brand new day!

We will all be slaves of bondage
If we don't accept HIS plan.
True contentment will never come,
Until we take the Master's hand!

So, in the midst of all the glory,
On this Independence Day,
Remember what true freedom really means
And celebrate it in a whole new way!
