SHINE’s story begun in 2003, gathering in the backyard of a home studio 3 talents in fusion, Guillaume Simon, outstanding songwriter, Laurent Houdard, brilliant sound designer & Antoine Delecroix, magical engineer. These artists are the heart and soul of shine’s sparkling music.
SHINE’s determination to innovate, results in a brilliant electro-organic pop spiral, alive and personal. Their first productions doesn’t take long to catch attention .Two singles are regulary broadcasted on French and international airs, One day and Ashbury immediately meet an advised public.
These first two singles are immediately greeted by enthusiastic reviews.The EP One day where electronic arrangements appeared naturally published in June 2004 was sold out within a few months. Several compilations in various countries such as France, Germany, China and the United States have added to their track list a jewel ‘made in’ SHINE.
Inspired song writing serves Hanane Laraki’s sensual Moroccan voice invited on their debut album.
Shine blends references and harmoniously mixes styles (pop, soul, folk, trip-hop, world…) letting various influences merge, creating simple , yet sophisticated compositions, that resemble to no other.
Ever since February 2004, on stage for their "baptism of fire" in London as support of Sia (Zero 7 voice), SHINE grew considerably more adventurous, and gradually built its stage identity delivering each time a newer , more direct ,viceral music.
The great success of their recent performances as support of Morcheeba in France and Italy demonstrates how SHINE’s intends to go further in creating a world at the same time intimate and open to please the public.
Even before the commercial release of their first album, the magic of their compositions operates, SHINE’s music already gathers; Morgan Page, whose fame hasn’t to be demonstrated (grammy awards '09 nominee), spontaneously remixed tracks from the group, as he did for Madonna, Coldplay or Norah Jones. The remix of Ashbury has been featured on the worldwide famous TV show Ugly Betty (ABC - season 3).
Also Paul Godfrey from Morcheeba sent them a personal message of congratulations, "Your music is great, wonderful in every way! ".
2008 is sure to be remembered, with the release of the worldwide acclaimed album “The Common Station” (Bonsaï Music / EMI), in addition of SHINE’s three members named above, guests of choice participated to this new record such as Nicolas Falez (Suferflu), Robin Canac (Olivia Ruiz), Hugo Cechosz (Eiffel) or Laurent David (Yael Naim).
