SHOCK IT TO ME! Horror Film Festival & Convention's Blurbs
About me:
SHOCK IT TO ME! is a celebration of classic (and not so classic) horror films, presented at the historic Castro Theatre in San Francisco. But SHOCK IT TO ME! is much more than a simple film festival... SHOCK IT TO ME is a witches’ brew of spooky movies, ghastly guests, and colorfully creepy horror hosts. Doktor Goulfinger, Ms. Monster and Mr. Lobo have all graced the SHOCK IT TO ME! stage, while our special guests of honor have included actor Russ Tamblyn (THE HAUNTING), and local legends Bob Wilkins and John Stanley from KTVU's "Creature Features" program (1971-1984).
OUR NEXT SINISTER "SHOCK IT TO ME!" HALLOWEEN SHOW WILL BE ON OCTOBER 16th-18th, 2009! MARK THOSE DATES DOWN NOW! STAY TUNED FOR MORE GORY DETAILS TO BE POSTED SOON!
Postponed until 2010: GODZILLA & THE MONSTERS OF MASS DESTRUCTION Stomping into San Francisco's historic Castro Theatre is a weekend celebration of Japan's monster cinema, featuring ten classic films, presented in glorious 35mm, from the producers of the annual SHOCK IT TO ME! Classic Horror Film Festival.
Our special guest will be the man in the Godzilla suit himself, Haruo Nakajima. From 1954 through 1972, Mr. Nakajima played Godzilla and various monsters on screen and television, and will be in attendance throughout the weekend to meet with fans and sign autographs.
OUR MOST RECENT "SHOCK IT TO ME!" TOOK PLACE ON OCTOBER 17th & 18th, 2008! Thanks to all of you who attended the 2008 event — our biggest and most successful yet! THE HAUNTED HOUSE OF SHOCK!
SHOCK IT TO ME!'s haunted venue, San Francisco's historic CASTRO THEATRE!
SHOCK IT TO ME!'s partner in crime is the 1407-seat Castro Theatre (429 Castro Street, San Francisco), a historic landmark built in 1922. The Castro Theatre is the perfect venue for a classic horror film event – it's an atmospheric setting with a massive screen and a genuine history of haunting. Truly one of the last of the giant single screen theaters of a bygone era - and we're glad that they love horror films! CLICK HERE for the Official CASTRO THEATRE Website!

THE RETURN OF THE BAT
Specimen will bring their special brand of glam mayhem, The Batcave to London again.
After last year’s wildly-successful 25th anniversary Batcave event, The Batcave returns to its original spawning ground of London’s West End on Sunday July 19 for another night of blasphemy, lechery and blood.
Specimen (Fresh from a fantastic show at Leipzig’s Waves Gotik festival), the original Batcave instigators will headline the lurid frolics at the Embassy Club, (29 Old Burlington St, London W1S3AP) Also on the bill are original Batcavers Sexbeat, with DJs Hamish and Cavey Nick, cavorting from decks to decadence with the usual brutal, trouser-dropping surprises & suitably confronting & barbaric entertainment.
The 2009 Batcave will feature installations from exciting new artists of the ‘Dark London Underground’ and visuals from the upcoming ‘Welcome To The Batcave’ book, along with this year’s bitcrushed message from the creature in t
