The Short Bus Window Lickers are:
Mark - Vox (ex Agrogasm/Peer Pressuse/Human Sewage) Robin - Guitar & Backing Vox (also plays in The Restarts) Szmalec - Drums (ex Dirty Love) Txema - Bass (also plays bass in the UK Subs)
The Short Bus Window Lickers started up in 2000 when they kicked a DJ off the stage at the Button Factory squat in Brixton (south London) and played their then only 10 minute set 3 times back to back introducing the London punkscene to their fast and furious scumbag hardcore punk. After a few initial changes they ended up with a steady line up consisting of Mark, Pete, Robin and Darragh and started gigging in and around London almost every weekend playing benefits, squats, pubs and clubs. They quickly built up a reputation of being fast, tight as fuck, always up for playing and most importantly: havin a sticky sense of humour.
In February 2004 the Short Bus Window Lickers recorded their demo CD 'St.Vicky' of which Mark must have flogged about a million on the Camden Lock bridge.
Unfortunately in May that year Darragh had to leave the band as he was too busy with his study and didn't have the time to carry on playing in 2 bands. His last gig with them were the 1st Hackney Punx Olympix on May 28 that year at the (late) Poison Club squat on Dalston Lane, which by then had almost become a second home for the band. Szmalec then joined the band on drums and the Short Bus Window Lickers started extending their playground to the rest of the UK playing gigs with bands like the Varukers, Discharge, Icons Of Filth, Sick On The Bus, UK Subs, Riot/Clone, Disorder, Broken Bones, Oi Polloi, Inner Terrestrials, The Restarts and P.A.I.N. to name a few.
In January 2006 the Short Bus Window Lickers independently released their first full length album '6 For A Fiver' on CD and in March that year they did their first European Tour, the '6 For A Fiver' tour, to promote their new album playing gigs in Holland, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Belgium and France and in September that year in Mallorca.
Unfortunately in late 2006 P-tex decided to call it a day after playing in the band for 6 (for a fiver?!) years but of course remains close friends to them; once a Licker, always a Licker! His last gig was on January 20th 2007.
In June 2007 the Short Bus Window Lickers fucked off to Europe again for a 2 and a half week tour with Kats (Intensive Care) on bass together with Armed Response Unit covering Belgium, Holland, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic and France and in September the Lickers played 2 gigs in Bretagne (F).
2008 was a great year for the Lickers as they got back on track with Txema from Cellbound as their new bassist, with whom they started writing new material in the run up for a new release.
They made their first appearance at the Rebellion festival in Blackpool in August that year and in September they toured France and Spain including Bretagne (for the second time) and Basque Country!
Szmalec started up his own project, a massive rehearsal studio in central Hackney with the potential of a recording studio and the Lickers started rehearsing there twice a week getting more new songs done.
This year the Lickers family got bigger with the birth of Mark & Rosie's daughter Kaya!
They've also recorded 6 new tracks in their own studio in central Hackney which was done by Darragh on his own mobile mixing desk. They're still in the process of mixing it and it'll be out by the end of the year on vinyl as a 12" EP.
In August they played the Rebellion Festival in Blackpool for the second time which was a fucking BLAST!! Check out the videos!!
And so the story continues...

Continued Aggression Leads to Mapuche Declaration of War Continued aggressions of the Chilean state has led the Arauco Malleco Coordinator of Mapuche Communities in Conflict (CAM), a radical indigenous Mapuche organization, to formally renounce their Chilean citizenship and declared war on the government. The declaration was issued on Oct. 20, the same day that two trucks belonging to the El Bosque forestry corporation were intercepted by CAM and set on fire in the province of Malleco. As reported by the Latin American Herald Tribune, “the attacks, which began at 1:10 a.m., came hours after five Mapuches were formally indicted under a Pinochet-era anti-terrorism law for similar assaults carried out Oct. 11 near the city of Victoria.” The declaration, much more than a symbolic gesture, comes at a time of increasing violence against Mapuche children and youths, particularly over the past three months, when Mapuche communities began reclaiming illegally occupied lands in the region of Araucania. For instance, according to the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH), on Oct. 16 “a large group of police, for as yet unknown reasons, began to fire pellets and tear gas canisters” in a school in Temucuicui, Araucania. “Several children suffered pellet wounds and had trouble breathing,” Hundreds of Mapuche and non-Mapuche activists protested the attack on Oct. 23—including several children, who carried the empty canisters with them as the marched in Temuco, Araucania’s capital.
