We are:
ARCHON: Guitar, Vocals, Keys, Songwriter...
Archon is the eccentric artist. Demented demon of the masterful manipulation of sight and sonic sorcery.
Archon is well-read, well versed, and devilishly handsome (he frequently sidelines as a professional model and actor). Archon's riffs and soloing can pierce you like the coldest hardest steel, or flow around you seamlessly, like ambient sonic liquid. Archon went through extraordinary lengths to study the riffs of Pink Floyd's David Gilmore, note-for-note across the Lydian/Mixolydian Modes. Influences include Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Beethoven, Bach, Heather/Sandy Gilmore (and the blood-sucking vampires), Pantera, Motley Crue, Gwar, Janes Addicition, Bauhaus, STP, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, the Ramones, Alice in Chains, Tool, and (most of all) the almighty Pink Floyd.
He plays ESP F-type Electric guitars, Takemine Acoustic/Electric, and his legendary Gibson Les Paul Dragon (Archon Signature Custom), all blasted through a Marshall Stack rig from Hell...His keyboard is a fully up-graded Roland Fantom X-6 digital keyboard/workstation.+++++++++++++++++++
DAK HUGHES: Bass, Vocals, Keys, Songwriter
Dak is the laid-back, mellow, and quieter component of S.E.T., preferring to let his Earth-shaking bass riffs speak for him. He also has his own stylized music project, "Dak Attack" (http://www.myspace.com/30pakdak), with which he performs additional awesome Originals of his own design. Influenced by the more up-beat campy folkish tunes, and classic rock, Dak smooths out the balance by also playing in the Lydian Scale Diatonic, as well as in the Locrian and Aeolian Modes...what he brings into S.E.T. perfectly off-sets the harsher edges of Archon and Rayl, creating that 'sweet-spot' of the right blend between such diverse interests. Dak primarily plays an electric Fender P-Bass, an electric Tun'e Bass, and an Aria acoustic Bass. Dak's keyboard is a Korg synthesizer, which is used mainly for backing tracks...______________
K. JOHN: Keyboard, Rhythm-Guitar, Vocals
(Picture coming soon)
K. brings the freestyle ambience to our group, with awe-inspiring keyboard and rhythm guitar riffs that tie everything together flawlessly. Influenced by such performers as: Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Tool, Primus, and Bobby Brown, K. does not stay put for very long on one mode of musical taste..._____________________________
RAYL: Percussion, Vocals, Songwriter
Rayl is the drummer...normally there isn't much to say about drummers, but Rayl does not just keep rhythm. Rayl IS rhythm. Drum beats that are constantly on the move, yet based on the heavier rock or metal riffs of faster, harder styles, such as Korn, Metallica, and Pantera. Rayl's peerless ability is that his drum patterns are every bit as protean and chameleonic as Archon's leads and Dak's root-noting signatures. He can sense approaching changes within the infrastructure of any song, with a supernatural accuracy.
Rayl's ability to sing while drumming is also impressive, as his voice is almost a dead match with Archon's voice.

THE SHUT-EYE TRAIN...
Here and now, stand the four of us.
Fists clenching ashes; evidence of flames past, and binding us.
We stand stoic and steadfast; on the rails, we four...
Tracks that vanish beyond the embers of the bridges glowing behind us...
Yet still lead forever onward...
ShutEye Train has played the dankest, murkiest broom-closets, the most stiff-assed posh joints, the filthiest holes in the wall of bigger holes, and we have played the bars and coffee-houses, and night-clubs, and even the Wachovia Center stadium...and we will play them all, again.
We've traveled a long turbulent journey, and still we sojourn forth, to see newer places, meet new people, and let everyone know what we believe music should be, and listen to others share their own thoughts on that very same principle.
The three of us come from such wildly different realms of musical preference...and yet when we come together to give of ourselves to all of you, we compromise our tastes to conform only to one another, so that all that remains pure within us musically can manifest unto your awarenesses and perceptions, to allow you to take from it what you will.
We create music together you as well as this band...all of you who hear our music and either like or dislike it; you are every bit as much a part of this band as we are. For that, we hate you, thank you, berate you, and love you...Just as we, unto ourselves. Come with us...be one of us, as we set out for...

"A myriad of clouds cannot extinguish the sun. Remember this through the overcast of worry, stress, or anger. In form, these thoughts seem to obstruct the Light of Love. Deluges of tears surely fall. Yet, despite ominous shrouds of uncertainty or storms upon the heart, the Light of Truth shines strong and sure far above all temporal impediments. Trust beyond appearances and radiate in the unchanging skies of Love." ~Pamela Silberman~
"From within or from behind, a light shines through us upon things and makes us aware that we are nothing, but the light is all." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson~
"Candle light, moon light, star light, the brightest glow is from love light." ~Grey Livingston~
