Cast in 2004 as an outfit driven by the singular purpose of writing good songs, Silent Service's music firmly resides in the space between rock and pop. Specifically, they blend together the catchy hooks of such acts like the Strokes, Guided By Voices, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with the classic explosive power of The Who. The result is something distinctly recognizable; like the scent of an ex you can still pick up on the t-shirt you never gave back, or the gentleness of a cuddly stuffed panther. Yet, the music remains honest with clever lyrics, unforgettable melodies and tight musicianship. The bands live show is infectious. They command the attention of the audience like an attractive stranger with an unexpected proposition.
