Born in Maputo, Mozambique, Simonal is an etnomusicologist, specialized in traditional instruments of mozambique. Apart from this genre, he also collaborates with various musicians/producers of other styles, and has himself put together projects such as Tchakare Kanyembe, Maty, and various others.
