SIMON CHAINSAW is a true rock’n’roller. Australian by birth and firmly rooted in the Aussie Punk meets Rock tradition of Saints and early AC/DC. But it doesn’t stop there, throw into the mix sounds like Foo Fighters, Stones, Pistols, Cheap Trick, Who & Motorhead and what you get is one pleasurable rock’n’roll sound full of energy and attitude!

Simon has spent the last 10 years serving up his no frills rock’n’roll, playing and recording all over the world. From his collaborations with Brazil’s finest FORGOTTEN BOYS (BASTA), with his own band S.C.H.K. (SIMON CHAINSAW & THE HIPPY KILLERS) (TOLD ME A LIE) & solo discs DOWN TO THE WIRE & ALPHA NEGRA and also the 4 CD BOX SET - JOHNNY RIO’S SONIC RANCHO SESSIONS (where he collaborated with some of the hardest rockers from Australia, Germany, France and Brazil… including members of New Christs, Sonny Vincents band, Holy Curse, Hawaii Samurai, Mottek, Planet Hemp, CPM-22 to name just a few…)

Now those 10 years and 8 discs are squeezed down to their finest moments in EIGHT TIMES LUCKY- BEST OF / RESTROSPECTIVE 1999 - 2010. With less than 2 tracks from each disc, EIGHT TIMES LUCKY is SERIOUSLY the BEST OF THE BEST from SIMON CHAINSAW!

But EIGHT TIMES LUCKY is more than just a retrospective of the last 10 years of recordings. It documents his journey from Australia to Japan, to Germany, to France, to USA and finally to the inescapable Brazil…. of recordings and tours, of band break ups and rip offs, of hope and desperation, of the best of times and the worst of times. EIGHT TIMES LUCKY documents Simon Chainsaw’s struggle. A struggle which Simon channels into his trademark sound: “Punk anger, rawking solos, and a big bottom end mixed with pop hooks, air punching choruses and a metal edge”

Aussie Hi-energy Rock’n’roll mixed with the brash CBGBs style punk, with nods to Husker Du, Replacements, and Social Distortion; a good dose of Stooges, Pistols, early AC/DC and Motorhead; and finally where Foo Fighers meet The Stones meet The Ramones, ALL in its glorious bliss! He is frequently compared to Sonny Vincent, Kevin K and Freddy Linx… not so much for the music but for the attitude, spirit and life style.. and it’s very appropriate.
