Everyone that ever hit the airwaves and played good music. I especially love listening to Tricia Yearwood, Faith Hill, Cher, Melanie, James Taylor, Garth Brooks, then I need to pick up their cd's and find out who wrote their lyrics!!!
Early in her singing career Lauri Merrow kept her originals close to her heart, sharing them only with a chosen few, and Lauri was a favorite club and café singer in the north shore cities and towns of Massachusetts. Lauri never let her passion for singing and songwriting dwindle.
In 2005, Lauri moved to Nashville. She quickly made her way into the songwriting circles and captured the hearts of many with her powerful vocals. Her voice is unique and her lyrics send strong and beautiful messages. Lauri has never disappointed her enthusiastic fans.
“Leave the Porch Light On,” which was released in January of 2008 by an independant label, Realm Records, based out of Virginia. The CD has ten solid tracks, some of which she is proud to say were co-written with her husband. Lauri’s music is well known in many other countries, such as Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Great Britain and Austria, where her music enjoys a lot of airtime. The CD is available on Amazon.com.
Realm Records has said of Lauri, “This Nashville singer-songwriter is much more than a great voice. Much more than a great songwriter. She is a master story teller who spins beautiful melodies and great poetic images within her songs.”
Most recently, she is working with Russonic Records International. An independant label out of Nashville. Her latest project has just been released on CD Baby and is titled "Body & Soul". This project was produced fully out of the Music City by Russonic Records.
