Welcome to the official Sinéad O’Connor Myspace page.
Twenty years after the release of her culturally-transformative debut solo album, "The Lion and The Cobra," the uncompromising musical artist Sinead O'Connor releases 'Theology', a new double-CD collection of vital emotionally-charged songs.
'Theology' premieres eight new songs written, or cowritten, by Sinead O'Connor: "Something Beautiful," "Out of the Depths," "33," "Dark I Am Yet Lovely," "If You Had A Vineyard," "The Glory of Jah," "Watcher of Men," and "Whomsoever Dwells" as well as three thematically-appropriate covers: Curtis Mayfield's soul-searching "We People Who Are Darker Than Blue," a ferocious interpretation of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's "I Don't Know How To Love" (from "Jesus Christ Superstar"), and the traditional reggae spiritual "Rivers of Babylon" with new lyrics written by Sinead.
" Theology is an attempt to create a place of peace in a time of war," said Sinead. "It is my own personal response to what has taken and is affecting everyone around the world since and including September 11, 2001. I want to be very clear - there is no message. No preaching. Nothing deep and meaningful the artist wants to say, nothing trouble making. I simply wanted to make a beautiful thing, out of something beautiful, which inspires me."
"As usual, O'Connor demands our attention…impassioned…glowing…she's still as relevant as she is colorful." (USA Today)
"Theology is the best record Sinead O'Connor has made for years." (The Sunday Independent)
You have a particular musical thinking, inusual, with large horizons, thanks for the emotions that I continue to give. Other compositions that are not on my space resemble very much for your thoughts. You play with your heart. I would appreciate your comment on our improvvised song (recorded..only the first time with no return on it). Thanks if you can. Wish you peace and sereniry. DANILO
New Release from Section 27 Netlabel [S27-028] ADVIRUZ - NIGHTLY SOUNDS (IDM, Glitch, Experimental)
Adviruz is the artist pseudonym of Istanbul’s Pinar Gurcan, whose growing passion for sound is translated through her music. Since an early age, she has been listening and mimicking opera singers, writing melodies, songs and poems in which she spoke her mind and reflected her soul. All of which are evident on "Nightly Sounds", an 8 track album which is the equivilent of having a glimpse into a diary, learning of love lost, gained, a snapshot of the human condition from which we can all draw experience... All of these things are developed musically into minimalistic glitch, noise, idm, experimental music and microsounds, influences reminiscent of work by artists like Tujiko Noriko, Mira Calix, Plaid and Björk.
Adviruz and Section 27 present "Nightly Sounds", an intricately woven and rewarding musical tapestry. Available now for free download.

Continued Aggression Leads to Mapuche Declaration of War Continued aggressions of the Chilean state has led the Arauco Malleco Coordinator of Mapuche Communities in Conflict (CAM), a radical indigenous Mapuche organization, to formally renounce their Chilean citizenship and declared war on the government. The declaration was issued on Oct. 20, the same day that two trucks belonging to the El Bosque forestry corporation were intercepted by CAM and set on fire in the province of Malleco. As reported by the Latin American Herald Tribune, “the attacks, which began at 1:10 a.m., came hours after five Mapuches were formally indicted under a Pinochet-era anti-terrorism law for similar assaults carried out Oct. 11 near the city of Victoria.” The declaration, much more than a symbolic gesture, comes at a time of increasing violence against Mapuche children and youths, particularly over the past three months, when Mapuche communities began reclaiming illegally occupied lands in the region of Araucania. For instance, according to the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH), on Oct. 16 “a large group of police, for as yet unknown reasons, began to fire pellets and tear gas canisters” in a school in Temucuicui, Araucania. “Several children suffered pellet wounds and had trouble breathing,” Hundreds of Mapuche and non-Mapuche activists protested the attack on Oct. 23—including several children, who carried the empty canisters with them as the marched in Temuco, Araucania’s capital.

My new song ‘TODAY OF ALL DAYS’ is collaboration with composer and pianist Elizabeth Anne Maddieton. http://www.myspace.com/pianorama and me, in shifting. The collaboration was totally digital, I love that we artists can work together no matter how far apart we live. I live in the United Kingdom and Elizabeth lives in the United States. So give it a play and enjoy the song that was made from far away.
