Skunk Tribe is a trance project leaded by Tiago Santos and Tiago Mota.
Tiago Mota, born in 1986, since a very young age he showed a great interest for electronic music. When he was 17 he started working in the djing and music production. He started playing at several parties in the school where he studied, it was also at this time that he also discovered trance. He started to attend trance parties and exploring the world of trance.
Tiago Santos, born in 1988, started playing piano even as a child. When he was 15 he was resident dj at a bar where he lives. After being influenced by the world of trance, he and Tiago Mota started exchanging ideas which gave origin to Skunk Tribe in 2006. In that same year they joined Digital Oracle Records, the biggest producer of indoor trance and progressive events in Portugal, having published several compilations in the last years.
The Skunk Tribe “formula” are the mixing of the aggressive and melodic sounds of trance with the influences of Techno, Funk, Acid, Breaks, Rock, Drum ‘n’Bass and Electro.
During the beginning of the Skunk Tribe project they have shared the same stages with great artists from the trance scene such as : Astrix, Talamasca,Xerox & Illumination, Domestic, Alternative Control, SUN Project,Vibe tribe, Xsi, Bizzare Contact, Dynamic,Neelix,Protoculture, Menog , Switch, Mad Maxx, Azax Syndrom,Zen Mechanics, Neuromotor Intelabeam, Rinkadink, Phanatic, Freaked Frequency, Shane Gobi,Anneli,D-nox & Beckers, Jaia, Even 11 Shift, amongst many others.
