"Forget You by Slashed Seat Affair is British pop at its best and with just a hint of Americana in the mix it might just have global appeal" - toxicpete.co.uk
UK indie pop/rock band Slashed Seat Affair are a female fronted 4-piece. Taking their name from The Jam’s 'That's Entertainment', singer and co-writer Ellie Mules was simultaneously hit by the name and the pavement after falling off her bike one day. Ellie met song writing partner Darren Michael (bass) at a Christmas party. The following year they were joined by school friends Noël Martin (guitar) and Rob Meehan (drums).
Slashed Seat Affair are emerging as one of the UK’s promising new bands. Their style of energetic pan-Atlantic pop/rock with its heart felt and meaningful lyrics have already attracted attention with a notable following throughout the UK and their debut single 'Forget You', which was released in February this year, saw the band build on their grassroots support as radio stations up and down the country started to pay attention and give Slashed Seat Affair airtime.
Entirely self-funded and released on the bands own record label 'Forget You' was described by one music critic as the sort of "...quality usually reserved for bands that have unlimited funding through a major...". It is a testament to the band’s quality, talent, ingenuity, single mindedness and barefaced cheek!
Forget You was taken from their debut album 'Noises'. Recorded at London's Strongroom Studios, the album was produced by Phil Tyreman who was introduced to the band by legendary producer Robin Millar (Sade, Everything But The Girl, Fine Young Cannibals). The second single 'No More Lies' was released on the 4th May 2009.
Inspired by personal experiences the band’s music deals with a range of issues, including betrayal, guilt, love, insecurities and somewhat bizarrely, tinnitus! The combination of great musicianship, melodies and performance shine through in both live and recorded formats.
"watched by a healthy following of Industry types who could not take their eyes and ears off the band and their slicing alternative sonic imagery, things look set fair for Slashed Seat Affair" - Tourdates

Hi Noel - if you get to read this, hope your good, after I saw you today and returned I found out John Weller had died. He who managed The Jam from 1975 (when they started pubrocking) up until the last shows in Brighton late on in 1982, and the same John Weller of course who fathered a certain Paul Weller. As this band is named after a line from a Jam tune written by Weller, I thought you may like to know.
