Join in the fun or just watch! We will hear performance poetry from seasoned performance poets including Jess Cook, Magenta Smallfield & Miles Merrill but we want you to involved too! Bring a pre-prepared poem, improvise or enlist the BRICKIES to help you write a spoken masterpiece. Poetry is not just about writing & reading – it’s about expression! This is an ‘open-mic’ session with a difference!

The smARTarts exhibiton showcases the best of our local emerging artists. Join us for the opening night launch on Wednesday, 25th March, 6 – 9pm. Come & meet the artists & pick up some affordable art! All proceeds go to artists, no commissions charged. Vote on the night for the prize winners, who will win some great prizes including 2 art materials packs & an Insight t shirt.

‘Pulptry’ Workshop – Its Sculpture meets Poetry!
Tutors: Token Imagination
“Look it’s not rocket science - we just install it mate. Ah yeah just grab a word and see what it stimulates… get a bit of water pop it up and go from there. If you need us we're right here”.

The Brickies “just wanna get the job done”. They have plastic words & water for cement – can you write a poem on the word wall with the Brickies? Our intellectual blokes will be there to spur you on & guide you in your poetic pursuit. You can even perform your impromptu prose at the poetry slam!

Stencil Art Workshop – Design & print your own T shirts & bags!
Tutors: Chris Tamm & Jessica McGowan
Design and cut out your own stencil! Use a pre-made design or create your own original stencil art. Add your stencil to the Box wall mural or put it on a t-shirt or calico bag. All printing materials are provided, however you will need to bring along your own T-shirt on the day. Blank calico bags will be available for purchase on the day for $2.

Knitting Cakes – make a non- edible dessert!
Tutor: Miss Helen
Learn to knit your own cakes & desserts. A sweet treat you can keep forever! You can knit a slice of cake, a tart or a biscuit. They are not edible but look so yummy! All materials are provided. Miss Helen is a master knitter, come & join in on the woolly fun!

Giant Box Wall Mural – Paint on our giant cardboard box wall!
Tutor: Kath Ellis & Bunkwaa
Its liftable, movable, disposable Street art! We have built an enormous box wall for you to add your doodles designs & stencils. Join the Stencil workshop, make a sticker, do a drawing & put your art on the wall! Place your mark on a massive community box wall mural. We have built a giant wall of boxes for you to add your stencils, stickers, messages or doodles! Anything from a full sized artwork to a paint stroke is welcome! Painting materials are provided. No aerosol please, Its too smelly. At 5pm we will dissect the wall & you can take your own little piece of smARTarts home with you!

Zine‘o’matic – made by Mickie Quick The one & only zine vending machine! The Zine‘o’matic is packed full of cool zines & artists books for you to purchase in exchange for a few gold coins, self serve!
