When that happened, singer and harmonica abuser Crazybones Jones, guitarist Emperor Strap and drummer BrickFist said "fuck it," spray-painted cute pink socks onto white T-shirts and wrote up a whole new batch of garage-burning tunes.
The Socks' debut was as thrilling as any Belle and Sebastian show, with Jones cutting a Monty Pythonesque figure in white pants rolled up to reveal pink-and-black-striped stockings. As the similarly attired Emperor Strap bashed out austrian-punk riffs on his hollow-body axes and BrickFist muscled the drums from under his Italian 'fro, Jones tore across the stage, singing his ass off and reducing the mic stand to scrap metal." - The Pitch, June 22, 2006
