Sophie started off her musical career when she was a Chorister at Winchester Cathedral when they founded in 1997, and in her last year there was made Deputy Head Chorister. After her 4 years at the Cathedral, Sophie acheived a Music Scholarship to study Music and Theatre Studies at A Level at Sherborne School for Girls.
Having sucessfully finished 6th form, Sophie went on to Chichester University where she graduated after 3 years with a BA in Music and Vocal Teaching. During her BA Sophie also held her own website and gained lots of experience singing for weddings and numerous events. Deciding that another degree was the next best step for her, she then stayed on at Chichester and did her MA in Music Performance where her main study was in voice.
Sophie has been trained as a Classical Singer, but has done some pop in the past, as you can tell by the tracks she composed and performed on myspace entitled "Strong Enough" and "Free". One of Sophie's best memories of this time was writing "Strong Enough" - as it was written around her friends mother, whom told her about the beatings she used to get from her ex-husband. This track has been described by listeners as "inspiring", "influencial" and "motivating" which has made it even more special. Both these tracks were kindly recorded at Untapped Talent Recording Studios, Southampton.
"Alleluia" by Mozart has been performed by Sophie on a number of occasions and auditions and is the real genre where Sophie's passion lies. Sophie still has a way to go before her voice is fully matured, and she is taking all the opportunities she can to sing and all the most hopeful steps to making it big in the world of Classical music.

Junk favourites Illicit return with extra special guest Luke Dzierzek, who was catapulted into the limelight following his massive track 'Echo' being featured on the award winning Citroen TV advert in 2006. More recently Luke's sound has diversified into more techy grooves - James Zabiela has been quoted as saying 'Luke's music is excellent, I'm envious of his production skills' - Luke's DJ schedule regularly takes him to Europe and beyond
"This EP features two very different tracks with a similar theme. It’s all about the groove, and my word is there a groove, (in fact there are two). “Phatt” has a decidedly funky feel while “Slim” is highly percussive with tribal beats throughout. Aside from the odd word “Phatt” or “Slim” depending on the track, that’s your lot, but then what else do you want anyway? " - DEAN SERAFINI, JJAZPROJECT. COM
Reading huh? My friend Vanessa lives there! And I was just kinda sorta near you a few weekends ago (May 10-12) in Bournemouth. It was a lovely weekend there. I stopped off there to see Girls Aloud whilst on my way to France.
It's okay...you can laugh at me for that. Everyone else does!
Colin Sales - Kinda Groovy EP OUT NOW on Open Bar Music Support from Timmy Vegas, Stereo Mutants, Richard Earnshaw, Andy Holder, Park Street, Staffan Thorsell + many more!
"Fellow Scotsman Colin Sales puts on his funky hat for this release, forthcoming on Open Bar. The EP takes its title from his regular radio show and features four tracks set to tickle your taste buds. “Carnival De Groove” takes some pacey latino style beats and adds bass, brass and a few whistles for good measure to create a lively vibe that’s sure to get you moving. “Grand Midland Groove” is noticeable for a cracking bassline and healthy dose of sax. “How’s It Gonna Be” drops nicely into laid back mode with melodic keys and rhodes together gentle guitars, sax and spoken vocals. “Ride This Dub” ups the tempo to round things off with another funky rhodes infused number a helping of trumpet thrown in for good measure. I reckon this is set to do some damage." - DEAN SERAFINI, JJAZPROJECT. COM
