What's up MySpacers? Check out the reel with my CNN, MTV, and other clips. And don't make fun of my hair in the Tae Bo clip...LOL...it was one of those days.
peace,
souleo
Here is the trailer for the upcoming reality TV show, "Intersections," that I co-created and co-produced with my business partner, Tachelle "Shamash" Wilkes:
I would like to express a very special thank you to all of the above for taking part in my interviews, and for making my job even more exciting!
***BIO:
Few individuals can command a multi-format landscape quite like Souleo. At an age when most are having a hard time navigating the everyday and mundane, this 23 year-old media prodigy is quickly establishing himself as one of the most formidable forces in TV, radio, print, new media, modeling, and philanthropy.
Raised in the entertainment Mecca of New York City, Souleo was always poised for greatness. His mother, who passed away in early 2007, is his greatest inspiration, "My mother’s spirit is still with me and forever will be. One of the greatest gifts she gave me is the joy of having fun and celebrating everyday of life," he said, "For me that’s the spirit that I carry with me as an on-air personality. I want to celebrate life and inspire people to have a good time."
Souleo is, indeed, inspiring people in all that he does.
Souleo, was most recently on CNN’s “The Nancy Grace Show,” as a guest panelist offering an emotional perspective on the Jennifer Hudson family tragedy following his exclusive interview with the popular singer/actress. Prior to that appearance Souleo was chosen by MTV to join the network's line-up of regular commentators for their new series, “FNMTV Premieres.” The weekly series which unveiled brand new videos featured Souleo's one-of-a-kind feedback on videos by today's hottest recording artists such as P!nk, Gym Class Heroes, Danity Kane, and more. With his energetic personality, musical knowledge, sharp wit, and unique fashion sense, the multi-media whiz kid, was a favorite on the program.
Souleo was also a popular DJ at the historic 95.5 WBRU as one of the hosts of Southern New England's 1 weekly show, "The 360 Degree Black Experience in Sound,” landing interviews from a diverse and respected group of luminaries such as the father of "Soul Train" Don Cornelius and Liza Minnelli, as well as current chart-toppers like Ne-Yo and Dashboard Confessional. In addition to his engaging celebrity interviews, Souleo has demonstrated a social commitment by developing segments like "What’s On Your Mind?" and "Lift Up the People," the latter which profiles celebrities that are actively giving back to the community and the former giving listeners a platform upon which to air their concerns. Bolstering his radio resume, Souleo was also part of "The Sonny Mac Show," on 105 KJAMZ in Tulsa Oklahoma, as the voice of Marlon Stylez (a humorous character that delivered weekly horoscopes).
In late 2007, Souleo was privileged and honored to be the last person to interview Dr. Donda West, mother of superstar rapper Kanye West, before her untimely passing. His interview was featured on the front cover of The Chicago Sun-Times, “Access Hollywood,” “The Insider” on CBS, NPR, BET, and in the Boston Globe, along with several other outlets. The full interview was published in the January 2008 issue of Sister 2 Sister Magazine. Souleo is currently a regular contributor to the latter as well as Newsweek, F.E.D.S. Magazine, Sixshot.com, and Australia’s Rhyme & Reason.
In addition to his media work, Souleo is a regular on the NYC open-mic poetry circuit and is currently completing his first ever collection of poems and short stories. As a model he has been featured in campaigns for MTV/MasterCard, Scholastic Books, Tae Bo, and more.
And just in case you thought there was one inch of the media backdrop that Souleo had forgotten to cover, he recently ventured into the world of new media content. Souleo is now the co-creator, co-producer, and narrator of the upcoming online TV show, "Giving Back," which profiles celebrities and their charitable causes such as T.I. DJ Green Lantern, NBA player Ron Artest, and more.
Perhaps most telling is Souleo's dedication to giving back to the community that helped foster and develop his talent. "For me just interviewing celebrities and being on the red carpet means nothing if I can’t use those opportunities to raise awareness and be a voice for positive change," he said.
An Ivy League-er (he graduated in December 2007 with an English degree from the prestigious Brown University) with the world at his feet, there is no doubt that Souleo’s name will be on everybody’s lips in the months and years to come. Souleo has proven that with determination, passion and, of course - soul - anything is possible.***
