La novità della stagione 2008/2009 è stata il grande show mensile di Soulful
Torino allo sPAZIO211. Il Gran Varietà unisce il concetto moderno della clubnight con Dj's al classico format dell'avanspettacolo.
Sul palco: ballerine (le favolose Soulfulettes), comici (I Senso
d'Oppio), burlesque show (Misskeygirls),
maghi (dal Club Bartolomeo Bosco), ospiti live e performers, quiz a
premi (a cura di Serginho Cartoons), tutto accompagnato dalla

The Gran Varietà mix the concept of the modern clubnight with Dj's with
the classic format of the variety show.
On stage: dancers (the fabulous Soulfulettes), comedians (Senso
d'Oppio), Burlesque show (Misskeygirls), illusionists (from Bartolomeo
Bosco Club),
guest and performers, quiz (by Serginho Cartoons), and the music of the

Miss Bubblezoe spazia dalle radici del Rythm and Blues afro-americano e del Rock and Roll alle selezioni anni sessanta Soul e Girlies.

Collezionista leggendario, forte di innumerevoli 45 discovers, la sua valigia di dischi raccoglie i singoli soul più rari del mondo. Le sue selezioni potenti e veloci sono state ospitate nei piu' importanti raduni internazionali. Fondatore della serata Dig Deeper di Brooklyn, ogni mese presenta Live con i più grandi performers dell'era d'oro dell'R&B (Negli ultimi mesi in calendario sono passati nomi del calibro di Garland Green, Young Jessie, Mighty Hannibal, Eula Cooper...) Per la sera del 29 ci farà assaggiare le ultime chicche della sua sterminata collezione che verte principalmente su suoni anni '60, R&B, Pop-Corn, Northern Soul, Funk, Garage.
Per l'occasione l'happening inizierà dalle 19 con una grande Merenda Sinoira sonorizzata dal Mod-Clan di Torino che è fiero di accogliere in territorio sabaudo uno dei più grandi esponenti della scena. Dj's Cumiana Beat and friends apriranno la serata con Northern Soul, Ska, Jamaican R&B, Soul and Mods anthems.

The Soul Fantastics reissue 45 on Soulful Torino Records!!!
5th release on RK's sublabel Soulful Torino. It's time for 2 mega rare & ultra in demand deep funk tunes from Panama. It's the first repressing of two impossible to find latin funk 45s. The Soul Fantastic, lead by Soul singer Samuel Archer, recorded these two killers at the end of the 60s. "Funky Puggin" was originally released on Taboga Records and on the peruvian Sono Radio. This tune is one of the heaviest cut produced in the isthmus, full of uh ah and breaks, truly a deep latin funk tune! Funky Puggin was also released on Soul fantastic debut album "Soul full woman / Se que vendras" in 1969. On the flip the even rarer "Soul Train", another latin funk stormer that will gonna make you move as much as the A side. Soul Train was originally released on Toboga 45, the original 45 is one of the most in demand latin 7" around these days, top notch tropical funk. Hot as hell!

Here we have the 1st single of the SOULFUL ORCHESTRA: a shoutin r'n'b instrumental with a catcy bass, heavy drums and powerful horns.
The band, produced by Luis, Jimmy and Palo Alto, is an allstar combo of musicians coming from top italian bands such as The Bluebeaters, Africa United and Statuto. Like all the Soulful Torino releases another dancefloor oriented track, a sure shot floor filler. SOUL BURGER is gonna do the job!
On the flip side a funky taste from the Bolognina scene. Dj Tib, recently appeared on Jazzman 12' with a awesome re-edit of Willie Wrright's Right On, here he rebuilds Soul Burger groove with the help of Brother Martin on flute. Massive!

Continued Aggression Leads to Mapuche Declaration of War Continued aggressions of the Chilean state has led the Arauco Malleco Coordinator of Mapuche Communities in Conflict (CAM), a radical indigenous Mapuche organization, to formally renounce their Chilean citizenship and declared war on the government. The declaration was issued on Oct. 20, the same day that two trucks belonging to the El Bosque forestry corporation were intercepted by CAM and set on fire in the province of Malleco. As reported by the Latin American Herald Tribune, “the attacks, which began at 1:10 a.m., came hours after five Mapuches were formally indicted under a Pinochet-era anti-terrorism law for similar assaults carried out Oct. 11 near the city of Victoria.” The declaration, much more than a symbolic gesture, comes at a time of increasing violence against Mapuche children and youths, particularly over the past three months, when Mapuche communities began reclaiming illegally occupied lands in the region of Araucania. For instance, according to the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH), on Oct. 16 “a large group of police, for as yet unknown reasons, began to fire pellets and tear gas canisters” in a school in Temucuicui, Araucania. “Several children suffered pellet wounds and had trouble breathing,” Hundreds of Mapuche and non-Mapuche activists protested the attack on Oct. 23—including several children, who carried the empty canisters with them as the marched in Temuco, Araucania’s capital.
