Hi. My name is Sovra and i'm a singer, songwriter. I play afew instruments but my main one is the Violin, and i produce my songs myself on my Mac. My biog runs like this; From age 14, National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain on Violin. Then the band FREVO in my late teens, playing many of the U.K. jazz festivals. Then took up the drum kit because it was the least expected thing to do and I wanted to play 70's Funk and Violin didn't seem to offer as clear a path as drums did at the time. At 24 I started singing, writing songs and producing what i'd written at home, plus lots of touring on drum kit (and backing vocals) for Lewis Taylor, Mandalay and Touch and Go. As a result I played on T.V. shows such as Jules Holland, Top of the Pops etc. Touch and Go reached number three in the charts with the track "would You?".. and i found my true passion for songwriting throughout this time, focusing back in on Violin as my main instrument gigs wise. I have since played Violin on many different recordings. (I'll put them down here if i ever get round to making the list..) Recently I was Musical Director, singing, and playing Violin+precussion in Timon of Athens which ran for 31 shows at the Globe Shakespeare Theatre between July and October.. Recording work wise, I will mention that my violin, tracked a few times to create a string section effect, is on the current theme of the BBC World Service. The same concept strings wise I often do on my own recordings as you can hear. Bless you for reading this far..
